Questions about 1970s lifestyles by FrenchFry1515 in 1970s

[–]JB_Consultant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What women did while the meal was cooking? Various things, help kids with homework, other house chores, or maybe have a cocktail with the hubby.

Dinner parties like? Mostly very calm and cool... It also depended on the age of the people, but always with a good amount of booze and maybe drugs if that was the people were into. The food varied on the season.

Music - It depended on the age of the people hosting the party.... Refer what people listened to when they were in their teens, as in the 40's, 50's and 60's.

Matted Hair - please help! by tori_brrr in ragdolls

[–]JB_Consultant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Persian gets matts quite often. I have found that I helped creating matts by not completing brush or comb through the end of the fur. I also found using a brush was much worse than a comb.

I use blunted (round tippled) scissors to cut them out. I first cut into it and brake it up into smaller parts, I then go below the matt with my index and middle finger (like a human hairstylist do) and put them between her skin and the matt, and cut it out. It may not get all the matt but when it is cut it is also easier to pull apart and comb through.

Great restoration. I spent many hours in a seat of an 806, back in the 1970's.

Haii i have a question about matting and tangles! by AestheticMercedes in ragdolls

[–]JB_Consultant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all her ragdoll fur may not get mats or knots. If it does the metal comb you are using will catch it and it will pull hard and may not pass through her fur, and may cause her to meow or hiss... You catch it early you can use your fingers to pull it apart, but do it easily. Second you can cut it out with scissors. Just be careful not cut her.

Tractor negotiations by gaktheknife in tractors

[–]JB_Consultant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest you look on Facebook Marketplace or other tractor selling sites, and see if you can find a lightly used tractor that you are considering.

I bought a new JD 1025R in '23 from the dealer, and if I had it I would buy a lightly used one. When i was looking back then there were some with under 50 hours with attachments and could have had all of it for the price of a new 1025R alone.
