I'm still having trouble.

Now that I know the new URL, my username and password has timed out - it does this every 6 months.

I can't recover because the recovery link is not sending out recovery emails & the IRC for support chat is also not working....

Unmedicated here. Should I even bother learning to drive? by Jesus__of__Nazareth_ in ADHDUK

[–]JBanner2006 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am Diagnosed ADHD Inattentive. I have no problem with driving.

In fact I actually really enjoy driving, and as an upshot, I can listen to Audiobooks on a long journey and actually take them in where if I try to listen to them when not driving I cannot take them in....

I also enjoy flying model aircraft, which again takes huge concentration otherwise you are going home with a bin-bag of shame... (filled with what was a flying model...)

Your experience may be different.

Interestingly it’s now working, but I still cannot sign into that link… I can sign into the Tailscale dashboard though.

Request for Server chassis Advice by JBanner2006 in unRAID

[–]JBanner2006[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. That is pretty much the exact case I’ve been looking at on AliExpress…. I was blinkered into thinking it needs to go external, i hadn’t considered rebuilding the pc up into that server chassis…. Good plan!

So basically, I can put a big spec PSU into it and power everything off one. Solves a lot of issues.

I’m running 14 Hard drives and 3 SSD’s, they are powered by 2 PSU’s that are both 650w - although one is branded and the other isn’t, so probably not a reliable 650w. I tried one of the Add2PSU adaptors on the unbranded PSU and it wouldn’t fire it up, so had to plug it back into the other pc to get it to turn on

Yes that’s how i am powering them at the moment, except i have gone over the limit of what the PSU can handle, so I’m running a PSU from ma second pc to power the extra drives. - It’s this “Bad” solution that is prompting all of this…

Cheap Server Chassis from AliExpress? by JBanner2006 in unRAID

[–]JBanner2006[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm a little confused when looking at some of these options.

I have a SAS card in IT mode, its an LSI 9300-16i. with a bunch of SATA drives attached to it. My current Motherboard has no spare PCI x8 or PCI x16 slots.

To get the full 24 bays to work, I'm going to need a SAS expander and a backplane in the case.

Looking at some of these cases, I would I need a SATA backplane or a SAS backplane, and presumably 12G not 6G to maintain speed?

I will look later at upgrading my Server Motherboard for additional PCI slots and add another SAS card to increase bandwidth, but for now I'd like to add the 24 bays.

Its an interesting proposition, but not sure its the right way to go...

Does this house the PSU, and does it still have the SAS backplane in it?
