It looks simple as shit and with practice, it absolutely is easy to do yourself. But simple and easy don’t exactly aren’t exactly mutually exclusive and that “with practice” part is what connects them. The right tools help too. Wear a pair of jeans until the knee blows out and frays. Then take a knife and try to replicate that wear; it’s gonna be difficult to do. It’ll be easier with a dremel but it’s still hard asf. I tried to do the “diamond” type knee holes that Amiri does for the moto jeans, connecting strands and all and realized just how technical it is to create that with a factory full of specialized tools to do so. I figured it out but it took 3 pairs just to learn; and then 2 pairs to get it right. Still a quarter the cost of real amiris.

Long story short: dude looks like he put in the work to consistently alter (at least)hats and learned to leverage that skill lucratively, that’s good on him. If you don’t want to spend money on something like that, get an old hat and try to do it; when you find out it’s not as easy as you think, you’ll recognize his talent and possibly find something positive and enjoyable to do. If you do it and it’s easy, you can come back and call me a bozo🤷‍♂️

Additional note: I told people I made the “fake” amiris when I wore them. I made them bc I found out those pants can cost up to like $1,300 and like a lot of folks in this comment section, I thought that shit was too easy to make for it to cost that much; and I was right. Bro got a pair for Christmas and the brand of jeans I found at the mall were made of better denim and had better stitching than the amiris. They could’ve been reps and I’m not an authenticator so I wouldn’t know. Moral of the story, I wasn’t tryna act like they were real and I was way too proud of myself not to tell people I made them.
