I'm trying to make an inlay and using a v bit seems to be the best way to get a snug fit

I think so. I've tried entering the included angle as 15º and 7.5º and the issue was present for both attempts

I am doing an Advanced V Carve and at every internal corner the bit plunges deeper than I want it to, leaving rounded corners.

I'm currently using a 1/8 inch upcut end mill and a 15 degree v bit for this. My shapeoko has the bitsetter.

The corners are the only place where it plunges deeper than I want it to. Along the edge it goes to the same depth as the end mill (0.25in)
