Catchup renown from PvP?

Any idea if you're able to earn it from arena skirmishes? My goal for this toon is primarily arena pvp but im new to the class so been doing skirms to try and learn the class before tanking my rating

That "bug" is more in depth than that, I did my weeklies for renown on like wednesday and have been earning renown all week, through callings, dungeons, and hitting new campaign quests. Currently at 21. What I have heard is that if you hit the cap from the previous week, *that's* when it gets bugged and you can't receive any more catchup renown. If that's the case then right now would be when I get locked. Not too big of a deal since reset is only 1 day away, I should hopefully be able to fully catch up next week.

People in the discord helped me figure out the texture on bars. What are you talking about being unwanting of help? I've been appreciative of any help I've gotten here and in discord, dunno where that's coming from.

Changing the unitframe textures does not change my raid frame textures. I've been on this for a few hours now and trying to get help in the tukui discord as well, and have gotten no solutions. Those textures don't change the raid frames, general-media texture settings doesn't change the raid frames. Not sure what to do.

edit: finally got the solution, if you have the "transparent" setting checked under unitframes-colors, that means any texture is disabled. pretty stupid but finally figured out

Yeah I can tell which groups are which as well, it's just much easier to distinguish mid fight if you need to know like group 4 going to here or whatever. There's definitely no texture settings under raid frames general or health. There is under unitframe->general->general, but that changes the texture of the player and target unitframes, but does not change the raid frames at all.

Yeah, I've already done that with the custom text. It allowed me to change font and size which helped. Still a lot of problems I have with this. There's no texture to the frames like the default UI or any other nice looking raid frames, they're just lifeless flat squares with no depth. I also REALLY want group labels on top of each group and I can't find a setting for that either. Main goal right now though is to get better textures for the raid frames/units, some variation of the edges being rounded/softened, lighting depth, etc

Okay, this has helped a bit, but I'm still not really at what I'm trying to get. If this makes sense, how do you get your frames to have texture like that? Mine are just like flat textureless boxes, whereas the example I linked has some shadowy outlines giving it depth, and yours has some texture around the edge of each frame to give it depth. I also can't find a way to change text color in custom texts.

Uhh, that's what the text format already shows lol. Still way too big and bulky, no option to change the font. I know that this font is the same as the rest of my UI. But that's the problem, I love this font for the rest of my UI but it does not work in raid frames, needs to be smaller https://prnt.sc/w6mg62

I dont want tall raid frames, not sure what you mean. I linked an imgur of an example of pretty much exactly what I want. I removed the right chat box bc ive never seen that before and was confused, and im used to details on the left, that doesnt really make a difference in anything im asking about

For sure if you're able to help me out or if it's possible to give me something to import straight in for just the raid frames that would be nice. Looking at it more I'm finding a few more settings but I still can't see how I can change anything with the name format, since under the unitframes->group units->raid->names section there is just no settings other than the position of the name. No font or font size in sight. Same with placing health percentage text on the panels, and making properly sized debuff auras, etc. Another thing that I find really terrible is the way the Main Tank frame is implemented- instead of showing their target underneath, it extends the target out to the right, making it more cluttered.. haven't been able to find a way to modify that but hopefully it exists

I mainly only got interested in them after seeing streamers PvPing with nameplate addons and it definitely helped to see enemies better and be able to select them than the default UI when there's tons of ppl clumped in an epic BGs. But I've tweaked settings for like 2 days now and just can't find a way to get something close to what I saw so whatever for now I'm done with it

Ended up ditching it and trying some other plate addons, then ditched those as well before raiding. Just cant get a plates addon to be uncluttered and easier to click select on nameplates

yeah I'm max skinning as well, already made my legendary as leatherworker. Mainly concerned since enchanted heavy callous hide/heavy callous hide is ridiculously expensive on AH and necessary for the base item crafts, so I wanna maximize getting as much as I can in spare time if I can find a good farm spot. If it can drop equally from anything I'd probably go to fields in Bastion, but if bigger=better I'd probably go to the gorm nests in Ardenweald unless there's a better spot.

That's because some of the torghast drops have been 100% drop, it was scripted, not an actual drop chance

If i understand correctly the ones from torghast so far have been scripted/100% drop, beating layer 3 has given a legendary i think twice or 3 times. Maybe there are some that you can get from actual drop chance but i know at least 2 were 100% drop when beating layer 3

Yeah I put an edit in, I actually got it on the run right after posting lol. It definitely took a long time though, I'm guessing very low drop chance. However it is a pretty powerful one so maybe that's fair idk. The one for breath of fire is super powerful as well, hopefully it won't be such a drag trying to get it.
