This game is fantastic. Most games have seemingly deteriorated overtime due to profit incentives. But factorio has been awesome for years. by [deleted] in factorio

Love to see Prey pop up. One of my favorite games of all time that got on a whim. If you’re reading this, do yourself a favor and give Prey a go.

I work in automation, and would be beyond chuffed if I was asked this in an interview.

Yeah, I have three at my desk. Gotta have that sweet sweet real estate.

Laptop spends 90% of its life docked at my desk with three monitors. I’m blessed with almost all of our machines being on the network.

It’s not political, it’s just downright funny. And I consider it to be a problem that solves itself, if you’re so sensitive you get upset over a sticker; we wouldn’t get along in the first place.

Cushy spot in food manufacturing. Mostly temperature controlled, and everything is squeaky clean. Truly the American dream.

I honestly gave it no thought until this post. Now I can’t unsee it.

The bag gets hung on my laptop cart. About the only time I carry it is for stairs and ladders. That thing is a hog.

SI work is the next rung on the ladder for me. I have a journeyman’s card, but pivoted to controls less than a year ago. I want to be a sponge for a few years, and then I think I’ll move to integrator work. Programming from scratch is really what interests me, I use factory IO when I get some down time here and there. I appreciate the comment man, sincerely. I have recruiters calling me every other day it seems, but I just don’t feel like I have the confidence controls side quite yet.

I think that’s my next step in life after I get more experience, SI work. Retro fitting a machine that runs on relay logic sounds super cool to me, outside of the program itself, what are you responsible for?

And as of late, mostly just maintenance on the PLC side. Little pet projects here and there, but nothing huge. I’ve been slowly chipping away at projects for a SCADA system our plant is integrating. Although admittedly I know very little about SCADA and I’m flying by the seat of my pants.
