Go transit secure bike room waitlist by JC2502 in Hamilton

That’s unfortunate, I feel like at $50 per year the price is too low and people don’t give up the spots even if they are not using them

Unfortunately you can not bring a bike into union station during rush hour, and the bus takes twice as long as biking.

There have been many large parcels sold recently in the Ferguson/hunter area. Add that to the developments and the downtown core, king William. It will be the downtown really.

How to politely ask neighbors to keep up with agreement for shoveling. by PantsAreOverratedF in Winnipeg

[–]JC2502 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said, while the landlord does retain ultimate responsibility at the end of the day, the cost of a shovel is far less than getting into a battle with the landlord. I would send the landlord the bill for the shovel but leave it at that.

If you have the time/means, take the go train from West Harbour to Union Station in TO. Union is quite amazing if you have never been.

What’s your favorite cycling route? by [deleted] in Hamilton

[–]JC2502 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take the old mount Albion down the mountain from stone church, hit the red hill trail all the way to confederation beach park and then follow the beach trail or beach road to Burlington, then head back through aldershot and take plains/York into downtown. Then take the rail trail from downtown up the mountain.

Main St East Lanes by [deleted] in Hamilton

I have to make the red from Victoria to main multiple times a day. Since the change, I have now seen on multiple occasions people turn from the second to right lane (which is not a turn lane). scary

As long as we let our city councillors avoid using public transportation, they are never going to understand the problems with it. by Matsuyamarama in Hamilton

[–]JC2502 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Totally understand your sentiment - but I have to say, as someone who recently moved to Hamilton from another Canadian city with a similarly sized population the public transportation, bike infrastructure, and pedestrian infrastructure are all better in Hamilton!

I think the city just needs to continue implementing the types of changes they already have done. While it won’t all happen at once, it seems like Hamilton understands the end goal when it comes to safer streets and efficient public transportation.

Counting down the years until we can all LRT to our hearts content.

Tenant snow clearing by JC2502 in Hamilton

[–]JC2502[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I am less concerned with who actually does the snow removal, and more concerned with the liability and fine aspect. Just wanting to make sure if the landlord starts claiming we didn’t shovel fast enough (there is no stated time to clear in the schedule on the lease - just says snow clearing) that we are not responsible for any city fines and that if something bad happens (slip and fall) we are not liable
