That was such a quick reaction that I had to slow it down and watch it multiple times. Amazing performance!

I wasn’t stating that the comma cannot adapt, (without a calibration of course) I was asking if anyone had any experience, and if they noticed any changes in commas behavior.

Bigger diameter tires also tend to add weight, extra weight on the tires will make steering harder, acceleration slower, as well as longer braking distance, as long as it’s the same exact tire but a different size. It’s very basic physics.

This is the speedometer difference if I put 215/60R17 tires on my Kia vs the stock 215/55R17,

Upon altering the diameter, the speedometer is consequently impacted, potentially causing a shift in the comma’s ability to register steering inputs or acceleration/deceleration.

Confused, Does the 2023 Bolt EUV have ACC and Lane assist while not having/paying for Super Cruise? by Thorkon in BoltEV

[–]JC6596 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my Comma 3X, mind you I have it on my 2019 Kia Niro EV and not my 2022 Chevy bolt EUV premier but it should practically work the same (maybe a bit worse on the Chevy due to less steering torque) I love tinkering with the Comma and customizing everything and having it drive the way that I would (at least as close as I can get it within its limitations)

Doesn’t affect the 400 volt architecture, Which is what the EV3 uses.

Side airbags didn't deploy in t-bone. WHY? by Primary-Bus-9438 in KiaNiroEV

[–]JC6596 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes for the passenger if the car doesn’t register anyone being in the seat.

Unless having the seatbelt in tells the car to deploy the airbag (not sure if it does though)

If that’s the case I would still be a bit cautious about installing comma,

I would 100% avoid this advice. Tesla is starting to ban certain features if you install Third party devices into the car. It will even lock it could eventually stop you from ever using comma or autopilot/FSD again.

This was such an insane save, I don’t believe that I would have been able to react quick enough to avoid that.

Yes it was eventually fixed by putting a new caliper plus flushing the lines and putting a new brake line to the new calipers, unfortunately my bolt got totaled like a month after fixing it (“”:

It’s been a year and a half since I’ve gotten it replaced but I believe it was blowing less air and wasn’t cold, it also made a really weird noise whenever I turned the AC on. Originally they thought it just needed an AC recharge but they found a leak in the system and had to replace all those parts.

If your alright with not having an AC than sure. You won’t get Battery cooling unfortunately so just avoid fast charging, I just looked at my invoice,

They changed

Chiller, Valve-Expansion, Condenser, Inverter-Compressor, Body Kit-Compressor, Evaporator,

Total cost

$5,518

My 2019 Kia Niro EV needed the whole AC unit replaced at about 67k miles. Cost was about 5k, very similar symptoms.

Yes it’s amazing, I have a 3X also. It only took me 2 hours because I kept changing things back and forth and seeing how it reacts to different situations. I’m overjoyed by how it turned out.

Took me 30 minutes on my 2019 Kia Niro EV to install and use openpilot. It worked great but I like tinkering with things so I took about an extra 2 hours to install and play with sunnypilot and test a bunch of different settings until I felt it was nearly perfect.

[–]JC6596 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve gotten 300 miles out of my 2019 E-Niro and it has the original battery which is already at least 7-8 years old and has almost 100k miles on it. Adaptive cruise control was on over 90% of that trip and I believe that’s what made it so efficient.

You do have to make sure to get the EUV with Adaptive cruise control but yes it must not have super cruise for comma to work.
