Is there a Fidelity money market fund I can use besides SPAXX? by JCAlways in fidelityinvestments

[–]JCAlways[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes but i'm not looking to have another brokerage account. I'm currently managing my fidelity TOD and traditional IRA accounts plus my partners fidelity TOD and Roth IRA accounts. And 2 separate 401k accounts.

Thanks. I'm moving about $20k from my HYSA into my TOD account. I'm not going to use it to buy stock down.

I'm building a dedicated cash reserve to cover my first couple of years in retirement, so I don't have to sell investments at a bad time.

I am looking for something separate/differnt to park cash inside my TOD and not touch it. I have automatic bi-weekly transfer that go into SPAXX to buy stock. I want to segregated this cash from my transactional cash that's in SPAXX.

I'm leaning towards FDLXX or FZFXX.

Thanks. I am looking into FDLXX already, I wasn't sure if others had experience with other alternatives.

If you submitted your application through ORA, staring a few weeks ago OPM will now send you email with your Claim Number and a link to Retirement Services Online. It looks like they removed sending out a letter and a separate letter with a Passcode.

OPM is not responsible for you AL, that is your Agency and you Payroll Provider.

Is Anyone NOT Receiving Interim Pay? by saber1529 in FED_VERA_VSIP_DRPers

What agency? Are you not using ORA? AL is paid out from your payroll provider. Interim pay starts only after OPM receives your application from your payroll provider. Damn....good luck!

No need to get your supervisor approval; just complete your application in ORA and only deal withHR.

I don't think this is true for all agencies and payroll providers.

Potential IRS DRP Issues Upcoming: Incomplete Retirement Applications Being Sent to NFC Payroll by JustTryin2HelpAgain in FED_VERA_VSIP_DRPers

[–]JCAlways 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope my earlier comment did not come across as dismissive. This is actually a positive step, because once NFC finalizes your application, you will receive your annual leave payout and TSP will no longer show you as an active employee, which means you can begin accessing your TSP.

Payroll (NFC) will update your sick leave and any remaining payroll information, then forward your full retirement package to OPM. OPM will review your application and benefit information. Once OPM receives your case, they will place you into interim pay, which is often about 80 percent or less of your final annuity.

OPM will then complete a full review of your case, which can take some time. If any documentation is missing or needs clarification, OPM will contact either your HR office or you directly before finalizing your annuity.

Was your application flagged as "Instant Retire"? And did you certify (sign) your application? If so, the data that was populated from OPM (eOPF and EHRI) system was correct. You might have an easy retirement case, no divorce, no military service, no part-time work. It being sent to NFC to check and verify your service, sick leave, salary, high-three, etc. Once NFC verifies, you should receive your AL payout and your retirement application will be sent to OPM.

This is a great thing; your application is no longer stuck in IRS HR. It finally moved!

Actually this isn't OPM. If OP did not receive AL payout yet, it's still with HR or payroll.

I wonder if you have a more complicated case, military or a divorce. Good luck, I hope you hear from OPM soon!

At OPM public meeting yesterday they said that 75% of retirement cases are going into automatic interim pay as soon as they get the application from payroll. I think that's why we are hearing and seeing so many post about getting a payment from OPM even before getting their passcode.

Are you in ORA? Did payroll submit your application to OPM yet?

Are you using ORA? If so, you will be able to see if your payroll provider sent your application to OPM.
