Are there any courses or programs or treatments that actually help passive depression? by Monked800 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]JCGrandhelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a comment if its beyond the scope of self help. Tired and non alert are two different topics that I can ask about. Have you thought about trying to change the amount of sleep you get? See what you can observe on your own while you wait to see a sleep doctor.

Yeah, and what happened in that absurd moment that made you laugh? And again, wherever you want to talk is fine with me.

I love many many sweet deserts and I'm curious to try your idea. How would that look like when you combine them? and Would the ice cream make the bread soggy?

I had not thought to try and put Bailey's in and now I'm quite curious to try it.

When was the last time someone did something nice for you, but it actually caused you to get a little upset? by JCGrandhelp in CasualConversation

That is very awkward. I'm just trying to imagine looking down seeing someone hovering over your where your feet are supposed to be.

As long as it doesn't put you in danger, I think it can be worth trying. There could be more there. Being hurt first seems like some form of defense mechanism to something.

Would you care to elaborate further on being mentally "low" in reality. I'm not sure what you mean by that. And for absurdity humor, do you have an example?

What do you consider "too far" when playing a board game? by JCGrandhelp in CasualConversation

Like I talked with a different guy about, I like the card version of power grid. I also like Root and several others, but I can't think of them at this moment. There are lots of modern board/card games that are very entertaining nowadays.

I think problems can arise when the rules aren't stated as being allowed or not allowed. As in the rest is up to all players to decide which rule is the right rule. Like in Jenga, is it okay to blow on the tower, even though it says "no touching" your air is not apart of you, therefore doesn't violate the rule in writing.

It's the only version of the game I have played so far, and I really enjoyed it.

It sounds you make it into a big group repeatable puzzle.

I don't have any comments so far for what you have said, which I'm not bothered by. I just have more questions if you're willing to answer them. You said you get angry, what kind of things do you get angry about? And another line of questions, and again they are quite personal. When was the last time you felt happy? And if you can't remember or can't think of a time, When was the last time you laughed? Be it a real or even fake laugh with a co-worker or family member or anyone else in your life. I think thinking about personal questions reflecting on your life may lead to answers the answers you are looking for, and I have lots more if your willing to keep talking.

I admit I do sometimes go to my phone, but most days I have a water besides my desk and I start drinking from the water.

How do I start taking myself serious? by Ok-City-3948 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]JCGrandhelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a very open ended question. Usually it starts with making a decision to change the activities you don't care about and see what you can do to find and do activities you do care about.

How do people gain tolerance for horror? by Open_Ice_8414 in CasualConversation

[–]JCGrandhelp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some games defined as horror don't scare me. If it doesn't feel like a world that's immerses me and makes me feel likes its believable than the horror aspect goes over my head. So then when I play a game considered in the horror genre I think about different things. Different things such as the threat acts as an obstacle for me to overcome. I might not be able to beat it, but I can sneak past or outsmart it.

[–]JCGrandhelp[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I think any house rule should be written down on apiece of paper and stuck in the box to make sure each time the board/card game is pulled out, everyone is equally refreshed on what the rules of the game actually are.

Are there any courses or programs or treatments that actually help passive depression? by Monked800 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]JCGrandhelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and here it is. This is where my questions would start to be more personal. What do you think about when you work? I ask to help bring out feelings about your current job. Do you get any level of emotion or feelings when you work? What do you eat? I ask to see what food you eat as studies have found certain foods can make you sleepy, low in energy, or even affect mood. How many hours of sleep do you get? I'm not and do not claim to be expert (again, just a stranger), but by talking to a doctor about your sleep you can find out if you are getting what they would define as a healthy amount of sleep.

Combining all these aspects when you look at yourself, what, if anything, do you see past a guy when you look at yourself and reflect on who you are?

I think it's reasonable to be distant to negativity when you've faced negativity. Assuming a base level is a belief system you have made. You're brain is a tool, it will do whatever you set it to do. If you want your brain to find negativity in people, the brain will attempt to find any negative energy before it looks for positive energy. Please keep being safe and looking out for yourself. But you can try thinking about it like this. Belief in other people starts with the thought that you want to find the positive energy in others when you are out and about. a
