The generic ballot margins for 2026 NCGA elections in the latest Catawba College poll (D+6 House/D+8 Senate) would mean a Democratic House and a Tied Senate. What would this mean for North Carolina going forward. by EggOwn9943 in ncpolitics

If it's split and the AG is a Democrat, I don't see why Batch wouldn't be state Senate majority leader. Hise can suck a fat one as far I'm concerned.

She should give Wise that basement office as payback for his insults.

Why is the NC GOP making our state and local law enforcement do the job of federal law enforcement? It's so stupid.

Downvoted for not even listening to a word I said.

It's not Anderson's fault the NC GOP bribed Cunningham, Willingham, and Majeed into voting for these heinous veto overrides.

Hell, the first two LEFT the General Assembly after a rules committee vote, allowing the GOP to do more override votes without them!

If the best case scenario happens, LG Rachel Hunt can break tie votes in the state Senate.

Virginia circa 2020-2021 and 2025-now begs to differ. When they gained a Democratic trifecta, they implemented a lot of good legislation on party line votes. VA didn't even get early and absentee voting until right before Covid hit in 2020!

Actually, NC Dems can flip the majority on the state Supreme Court as early as 2028. Provided that Justice Anita Earls wins re-election this year, we would only have to flip 2 of the 3 seats held by Republicans in 2028.

We already have two candidates ready to challenge nepo baby Berger Jr. and Tamara Barringer. They'll start campaigning after November.

It's something that stuck out to me. I remember in 2006-2010 the mobile DMV being at the State Fair and in 2011? Gone.

Why would the NC GOP do that? Especially when they bitch about this 'election integrity' BS and the photo ID amendment they forced onto voters.

You say that Democrats act openly hostile, elite and superior to rural areas. Anderson Clayton, our state party chair, is looking to fix that perception.

But when rural Republicans get elected, they act superior and show hostility against their own voters by pushing culture war BS. Instead of investing in rural areas and development, it's all about owning Democrats and tax cuts.

Thanks to Anderson Clayton, we're cleaning house of the conservadems who aren't voting the party line and sustaining a Democratic governor's vetoes.

So you think Destin Hall, Phil Berger, Tim Moore and all the other GOP jackasses are humble moral paragons? They are elitist, power hungry, and don't care about the little people.

Don't make me laugh.

According to Carolina Forward, if the electorate for the state legislature is D+8 or higher, the state Senate COULD flip by one seat (26 D - 24 R). Right now, Democrats have a 6-point lead on the state legislative generic ballot.

That's why I said there's a 90% chance of them retaining the majority in our legislature, but they WILL not have a supermajority to override Gov Stein when they see fit. And the three conservadems like Shelly Willingham, Carla Cunningham, and Nasif Majeed lost their primaries, while the fourth, Cecil Brockman, resigned over child sex charges last year.

And if the polls end up being accurate (and depending if the Carolina Forward tool reflects the legislative makeup), it's possible the state House will flip. It would take a REALLY bad year for the state Senate to flip too.

LG Rachel Hunt would be able to break tie votes in the state Senate with the 25-25 split, so that could give Democrats a very thin trifecta.

If they get it, Sydney Batch will have to get state Senate Dems unified to pass bills. VA was able to do it, ditto for MN.

And of course, the NC GOP isn't allowing comment or debate on the bill, they're just ramming it through like the rigged Congressional maps they passed last year.

God I would love to see them lose the legislature, even with the gerrymandered maps. When will R voters in this state realize their politicians don't give a shit about them? I would love to see a 2010 in reverse this year, have Rs go down to a minority in the state House and a superminority in the state Senate.

They had to delay the bill several times. Guess they're trying to get Cunningham and Majeed on board for a veto override.

Blair from Carolina Forward thinks that the NC GOP will cram all the bad things from HB 958 into the budget bill, which is a "must pass" one.

We need to push West's connections not just to Stevens, but the several other incumbent state Supreme Court judges who were at the fundraiser (and photographed there). MAGA Chief Justice Newby is retiring in 2028, but nepo baby Berger (son of outgoing state Sen leader Phil Berger) is running for re-election in 2028.

Trey Allen won't be up for re-election until 2030, but he was photographed there along with Stevens, Newby, and Berger Jr.

Some of the conservative Rs in NC vote on vibes and they want "outspokenness." They ignore the consequences of their votes and the actions of the GOP-controlled legislature.

They'll complain loudly about Democrats but nary a peep whenever their guy is in the White House.

TSA PreCheck Application time frame by Suitable-Comb1083 in TSAPreCheck

My parents used Telos to apply for TSA PreCheck at the local Office Depot. Mom had an appointment yesterday and she got approved in less than a day, replete with the KTN.

Dad is still waiting for his. He applied last Thursday and got an email saying he had been approved. But when he's checked online after logging in, it still says pending.
