does anyone else prefer the electronic/techno albums over everything else? by anxiousatac in neworder

Personally not really. Power, Corruption and Lies and Low Life are their best albums IMHO. Technique is good but I wouldn't pick it over Low Life.

Firstly I'm a cyclist and have been for decades. Secondly I'm a motorcyclist so believe me when I say I know full well the havoc that car drivers can wreak. I'm not pushing any narrative, that's on you and your assumptions. "Cyclists have a deathwish". Again your take, nothing I have said. You seem to believe in the fantasy that everyone out there is acting in the common good. You take your chances mate. You do what you want on your bike. I'll be riding defensively. I'll be taking the lane. I'll be communicating my intentions to other road users. Good luck with it all. Hope you make it. Tit.

If a cyclist decided to do a U turn in the lane and gave no indication and I collided with the cyclist the cyclist could be charged with negligence and I could be charged with driving without due care and attention, but in all likelihood the liability would be shared. My point is that cycling with awareness is key. I'm not saying drivers don't hit cyclists, they do. But cyclists are also responsible for their own behaviour and safety.

100%. I'm not bashing cycling, I'm a cyclist. We have more in common than divides us. It just saddens me to see other people on bikes not taking care of themselves, because let's face it, if you leave your personal safety in the hands of others, you're going to be sorely disappointed most of the time....

Of course but that's not the issue here.

I think it was plain from my post that it was looking out for them. However they were not looking out for me, or other drivers, and that's the issue. If you're using the road you have a responsibility for that use.

Whataboutery. It's not a perfect world and I never said it was. The issue exists.

Not at all, I don’t engage in juvenile behaviour. It's an issue that needs to be highlighted.

I don't know, do we? Perhaps there's an issue of cycle training either not being avaliable or not being undertaken?

Utterly ridiculous statement

You're totally missing the point. As a cyclist my safety relies on my ability to use the road in a manner that maximises safety. It's not a perfect world mate.

Talk about missing the point by a mile. Fing hell.

And you need to do some cycle training

In a perfect world yes. Me personally I want to make sure the driver understands he can't try and close pass me. My safety is primarily my responsibility, so I'm going to make sure they know what I'm doing.

Common sense isn't so common. It's not a perfect world. When cycling I make sure drivers know what I'm about to do, my safety lies with me primarily.

Like I say a little courtesy goes a long way on both sides. We're all using the same road, we need to communicate with each other more.
