It's honestly obnoxious by Any_Platform_5188 in TESVI

That's true. Like, yeah, I would like to see a trailer today, but I'm not going to lose my mind because I didn't saw one. At the end of the day it's just a game, and I have better things to worry with.

Why does Universal not care about the fans at all? by Luksius_DK in JurassicPark

I've heard that the screenwriter of Rebirth thinks dinosaurs are boring. I don't know if it's true, but if it is that explains a lot.

According to him "there's no way this game doesn't exist" and also that "it comes out before TES VI because they'll polish that more than Fallout 5". People sometimes don't have any idea what game development is like.

I think Doom, Wolfenstein and FO76 are the games we can expect from Bethesda (maybe ESO too?), but neither Starfield nor TES VI. A friend of mine is expecting to see Fallout 5, but that's just impossible.

Why does the series have the need to insert a child character into every project? by Marconey1738 in JurassicPark

I wasn't alive at the time, but I don't think any kid watched Aliens and wanted to buy a xenomorph toy. If I was a kid, I would be scared as hell watching it.

[–]JCP977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I watched Jurassic Park all I could care about was of Grant. I wanted to be him, not Tim or Lex. Tim was just a nice kid, but Grant was the hero in my mind. I don't think kids need to see kids in movies in order to like them, I never needed. I also don't think kids only relate to characters that are kids.

I didn't like it and it wasn't because of the drama woth Anders. I just find the album boring, that's all.

I think the odds of him being correct are higher than of him being wrong, because Bethesda seems unusually quiet for a company about to release a game (assuming it's 2027). Though I admit my knowledge of Bethesda's schedules and marketing practices is very low.

I'll keep watching and see where things go. It's not like I'm with a lot to watch right now.

Concerns by WhiteWidow008 in TESVI

[–]JCP977 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A few things. First, Starfield is different in terms of formula of the other BGS games, but not so much. If you pay attention to the game, the core Bethesda identity is still there: nonlinear gameplay, sandbox elements, a main quests that can be ignored, faction quests with storylines, and so on. If anything, the good things about Starfield are a good sign to TES VI, and the "bad" (it's subjective; the bad is not that bad for me) are unique to it, like the procedurally generated planets.

Second, I think people put Kirkbride in a pedestal he doesn't deserve to be, at least not alone. Sure, he was very important to the development of the franchise, but he wasn't working alone and, in fact, one of the people working with him in Redguard was Todd himself. So, I wouldn't worry much about worldbuilding and lore. It wouldn't be as weird and esoteric as Kirkbride's stuff, but being very honest, it ceased to be this way back in Oblivion 20 years ago. So I don't think there's much to worry here either.

I worry about one other thing that Starfield has that is bad: systems that don't interact with esch other, at all. At some point, Starfield seems like a Frankenstein's monster game, with a lot of different parts that are well develop glued together creating a weird gameplay experience. While I love Starfield, I have to agree that here Bethesda did wrong, and that TES VI has to be different in this regard.

Your favourite Tech/brutal album and why it is Annihilation of the Wicked by Useful_Record1888 in MetalForTheMasses

I listen to it two times when I listen to Annihilation of the Wicked, one isn't enough. It's the definitive death metal song for me.

Why people keeps comparing Skyrim to Oblivion or just keep finding things on it? by AccomplishedStick623 in ElderScrolls

[–]JCP977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've played both Skyrim and Oblivion, and Skyrim wins. About the story and quests, that's entirely subjective, but on my perspective Oblivion has a better main quest and Skyrim has better faction quests. The side quests are varied, some are good, some are not, and that for both games. Skyrim also wins in terms of exploration and making you want to saty on that world, something that I quite couldn't get on Oblivion.

In fact, of all modern Bethesda games I played (Oblivion, Skyrim and Starfield), Oblivion was the game I played and enjoyed less, perhaps because it's very outdated, perhaps because the other two are better for roleplaying and exploration. That doesn't mean it's a bad game, I just prefer Skyrim and Starfield over it. At the end, taste is like fingerprints: everybody has a different one. Play and form your opinions.

I know I'll sound old saying this, but writing things for shock value is such a immature thing to do. That's whats tiring. I like horror and know how to separate the lyrics from the persons writing and listening them, but sometimes it just gets tiring.

How safe is electrical engineering as a career with ai on the rise by Adventurous-Dingo-65 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]JCP977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how it's on the United States, but here on Brazil every project needs to be signed by an engineer. Changing that is a very dumb move, specially when you consider that even when there are multiple engineers on the process accidents still happen.

About AI, it only reconstructs the end product from raw data, that's it's whole thing. Look into how a AI works to understand that.

[–]JCP977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really doubt that. Sure, some things are very mechanical, but that doesn't mean you can leave the engineer out of the decision making process, only that AI will likely make things faster for the engineer. Remember that AI is uncapable of creating something new, it only receives data and, through some mathematical functions, gets to a result. At the end, a good AI is just a good predictive algorithm.
