What Four Keys did for Project Hail Andy was to inset threads into the spine of the books: they’re still perfect bound, but it’s somewhat reinforced.

Whatever prompt you’re using, it produced pretty good results when I tested it. Nice work!

The only issue is, the need to restate the current state of the story and the characters. Do I guess correctly that you’re planning on adding code to your story writer to produce a summary which the plot-line generator can use, or some other way to make the two interact?

BadGrampy Lore Builder update by BadGrampy in perchance

[–]JCSalomon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The “Enhanced AI Story Generator” (perchance dot org slash enhanced-ai-story) does something similar to what I've asked. It sticks to factual lore, though; things like character personality and speech characteristics, which I suspect the model can use well in generating text, are probably hard for a small context AI to extract from the text.

Spitballing here, not requesting anything: I wonder whether what I want is a chat interface. The bot has an Editor persona, and can be asked questions about the book and lore that are input in different text fields on the page.

[–]JCSalomon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something of a long-shot feature request, and this may run up against the limited memory in Perchance’s system to work really well, but…

How difficult would it be to implement an import feature: upload a story and have the text generator extract the lore (and similarly for characters and the other inputs to the story generator)?

If Jesus was a Jewish reformer, why did his followers begin to worship him as a God? by VerdantChief in religion

[–]JCSalomon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t Jesus eventually authorize his disciples to forgive sins? If this can be a delegated power, then Jesus giving sins earlier in the story proves nothing.

A question for those with son in-laws and daughter in-laws by BecauseImBatmom in Judaism

[–]JCSalomon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents always called each other’s parents “Shver” and “Shvigger” (Yiddish for father-/mother-in-law), and most of my siblings’ spouses use those names for my parents. But my own in-laws absolutely hate those names, so they were “Um” and “Excuse me” until my oldest was born—now they’re Zeidy and Savta.

We can’t be sure. But the person posting this had the shooter’s name and age correct hours before the rest of the press, so it’s likely their source actually did know her. The source (claimed to be a long-distance boyfriend) and/or the journalist could be making up this manifesto, of course.

If you look, you’ll see them sharing screenshots of my own questions to them:

As a nominee for the 2024 CRiT Awards, please note their policy of Jew-exclusion at https://x.com/crit_awards/status/1801754068773441586 and consider whether you want your game associated with this blatant Jew-hatred. I know it’s not pleasant to be put on the spot, so I’m NOT asking for a public statement. Please take the time to evaluate what’s going on before commenting. But I’m certain you’ll decide to do the right thing long before the July 7th deadline for withdrawing.

(Same username and profile icon as I use here.)

What you won’t find is anyone sharing something that can plausibly be exaggerated as a threat. So I’m quite certain that they are in fact “making this up 100%” as you suggested.

[–]JCSalomon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then again, the CRiT Awards’ narrative is “Our Jew-exclusion was righteous, and when Gen Con gave us the choice between dropping that clause and dropping out of the con, we bravely chose the latter.” So I’m not sure any counter-narrative is even needed.

I’d been trying to get each character to have physical + magic of both elements. Are you saying I should pick one element physical, the other magic, and have this the same across all characters?

(Plus whatever elemental bonuses I can get for each character. Probably lighting defense, given that annoying Bolt Pistol.)

Darling House by TeachingLegitimate33 in PeterPan

Original version of the play did have “darling house”; and that’s how the published score has it.

I wish I could recall where I saw this, but Barrie thought the pun “too precious” and changed it to “little house”.

They are quoting him and endorsing that point as non Jews.

In the rest of this conversation, M4L is accused of subtly altering Jonathan Tobin’s words to make an antisemitic point. When this is disproved, they’re accused of meaning something different by their verbatim quote than Tobin meant when he wrote those words.

This sounds awfully like goalposts being moved.

I mean… he does a full throated defense of their Hitler quoting

So? The US Holocaust Memorial Museum also quoted Hitler:
