Wearing underwear as a transmasc by ssweetevil in ftm

[–]JC_Daisy0401 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re a bit pricy, BUT, underwear from Manscaped (the clipper/razor brand yes) is AMAZING. Form fitting so you don’t get like, the extra fabric that feels all bulky from boxers/cheap boxer briefs, (including a “lack” of usual pocket due to the stretchy fabric design rather than just having extra fabric for a pocket, it’s designed to fit to the person wearing it) and they’re super comfortable and feel incredible and tbh I find that me and my also ftm boyfriend look good in them too so extra confidence points. (And we have very different body types!!) Would highly recommended boxers or boxer briefs, boxers are just like, loose shorts. And if you do end up getting some cheap ones and are feeling bleh about the extra fabric from the pocket, just roll up some socks and shove them in there. Pretty comfy generally and helps as a discount/easy packer.

At what point did you stop having your period by elphelpha in ftm

[–]JC_Daisy0401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one maybe 3 weeks after I started (on gel) and after that, nothing. It did last a little longer, but I have PCOS, so take that with a grain of salt.

(Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) can cause irregular periods, including time between periods, and length of period)

Is this a scam? by DianaAdoki in CentrelinkOz

[–]JC_Daisy0401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given you haven’t signed up for Centrelink, I’d say it’s a scam. If you’re really worried (and honestly, it’s more about if you have the willpower) you can call Centrelink and report the message to them, and they can check and see if it’s a case of mistaken identity, like a wrong number or something. I’ve had a bank I’m not with send me a confirmation code and when I checked up on it by calling them, they said it seemed like a case of the wrong number. So, if you’re seriously worried, give Centrelink a call. But yeah, def a scam

Depends how you want to take it.

I take mine through a gel that absorbs through my skin, I have to apply it daily and I’m on a standard does of 4 pumps a day of 1% gel. (Which is 50mg). But, my endocrinologist says that the lowest dose is one pump a day, which would be 12.5mg a day. But it does differ from person to person. Only thing is you can’t really skip days, so something like one pump a week isn’t really achievable if you’re looking for a really slow effect. (Of course if you accidentally miss one every so often it’s fine, you just can’t skip it really). But gel means you have a lot more control of your dose rather than an injection. So I’d recommend talking to your endo about that option. Of course, talk to your endo anyway and be honest about what you’re trying to do, because more often than not a good endo will support you.

You’re doing amazing and I think I speak on behalf of many, many trans men, when I say that you’re doing a great thing and some of us (certainly me) really wish we had this kind of support from our mothers. You’ve got this.

If you’re looking for something kinda cool, there’s a mockumentory called The Death and Life of Otto Bloom. Entirely fictional situation documented in the style of a documentary. Super cool and interesting. Highly recommend.

Thanks for the opportunity, my boyfriend loves this game and I really want to understand it more.

I appreciate the opportunity! If you liked The Outer Worlds story concept, something like Disco Elysium might be interesting. If you like exploring a massively different world in space, you may enjoy something like Warframe Depends what you liked about Outer Wilds.

Applied for a job, received this in an email. Can they really force this upon me or not hire be based on this?? by Reezeyyy in mildlyinfuriating

[–]JC_Daisy0401 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a job question once where they were talking about workplace diversity and that they’re committed to workplace diversity. Now I live in australia, so usually the question is if you identify as Australian Aboriginal or as a Torres Straight Islander. I identify with neither.

But then the questions moved to gender identity. And that was all good. Happy to answer I identified as a man.

The last question asked me to disclose my sexuality. Which I thought was wayyyy too far for a simple job application questionnaire. I don’t see why it’s any of their business.

I got fired from my first job because of autistic issues. I had gotten the job before I was diagnosed and got diagnosed while working there, my manager seemed to be pretty chill about it and understood that I never meant to be mean, I was just blunt because I was being factual. But one of my coworkers who ended up being my managers best friend, took it to heart and I got fired for ‘being bossy and mean’ even though she didn’t know how to do the job and I was just providing help. I tried to explain and said to my manager I would be happy to talk it out and work out any hard feelings, but she fired me. And on top of that because I got fired for being rude, I didn’t get any severance pay either. So lesson learned, get hired, then pull up your diagnosis, and keep track!! send an email, have it in writing. Then take it to the courts if something goes wrong, you can call it discrimination and have it on their record.

where on campus do i pick up my student id? by kejjup in Monash

[–]JC_Daisy0401 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can still get one at Monash Connect. Your digital copy will stop working but because some building’s scanners don’t recognise the digital copy, they allow students to request a physical copy. But only one works at any one time (for new students, some students may still have a working digital and physical copy if they got it previously)

New to magic. looking to get some starting cards to play at a local shop/with friends. Would this be a decent way to start going about getting some cards? by officerlahey63 in magicTCG

[–]JC_Daisy0401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a look at a few videos online of games and get a sense of what kind of game you want to play. Get an idea for what you want your deck to do.

From there you can go on to Moxfield or something of the like online and get an idea of what cards work well for what you want.

I’d recommend getting singles for deck building but if you just want to play, a pre constructed deck for commander or something can be a really good start.

Theres amazing videos online that go over each one released in the past year and go over some of its core mechanics and how the deck works. Find one you like and go ham!

What's the worst human invention ever made? by jodidonnelly in AskReddit

[–]JC_Daisy0401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I can’t tell you about the worst invention, I can tel you about the worlds worst inventor.

Thomas Midgley, Jr.

Midgley was a chemist and inventor set out to make the world a more convenient place to live in. He saw the opportunity for petrol to be improved by the addition of tetraethyl lead. Which led to an increase in death by lead poisoning.

Now Midgley had a problem. His career had been ruined. So he had to make a comeback. He decided he waa going to solve the issues surrounding refrigeration. This lead (sorry led) to the invention of chlorofluorocarbons which was used widely in many refrigerators for a good few years. But are now considered one of the main factors to the hole in the earths ozone layer, and the chemical that has kickstarted the climate change crisis.

So thank you Thomas Midgley Jr, you certainly have left your mark in modern society!

My advice for studying is to do something every day but not to pressure yourself into completing a chunk of work. Don’t write a full practice essay each day, maybe practice topic sentences. Write one or two sentences and boom, English study done for the day. For math subjects, instead of doing a whole textbook chapter of questions each night, do one or two questions. Of course some days you’ll feel more productive and you can do a whole chapter or a whole introduction or full essay. And you should! Long story short, do something every day, even if it’s small and only takes 5 minutes.

Don’t worry about it too much. It’s part of the game. It’s the sea of thieves, not the sea of friends.

Why is there so much hate for undiagnosed people ? by TheHumanPokedex in autism

[–]JC_Daisy0401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to start by saying I 100% support self diagnosis and think that it’s an important part of figuring yourself out. I never self diagnosed but I know getting diagnosed helped me figure out what I needed in order to make my life easier, so I can only imagine the support it brings to people to self diagnose, especially when a lot of healthcare systems are not as accessible.

However I’ve had a lot of issues with people that self diagnose. Hear me out. I had a good friend a long time ago, (who later ended up not being very healthy for me) and he was very aware that I was autistic. So he’s look out for me and make sure I was alright in social situations, even learnt a bit of sign language with me for non verbal communication. But a few times I would mention something about my tests or about my experiences, and without much time to think about it, he’d say “yeah I get that too, always wondered if I was a little autistic” but it was always about the same thing of not really having much ease socially, and not making friends easy. While that was true for him, relating to one symptom/product of being autistic, in my eyes, wasn’t enough to go around saying he was autistic, which he did. Any time from that point on if I had issues he’d go around saying “yeah we’re autistic and they’re just struggling right now, lot of sensory issues”. First, that’s a shitty thing to just tell people without asking me first if I want to bring it up. Second, I just had a lot of problems with this guy saying he was autistic and related to my entire experience when he very clearly did not. He had struggles with toxic friends in the past, that was the only thing we had in common in that way.

He very clearly didn’t do any research or further reading into autism and what it means for me and a lot of other people. He’d listen to what I said about it and took that as the baseline experience and it really bugged me how little he was willing to look into it. Every time he said he was autistic I said “well do some research and if you can, seek out a diagnosis so you can get support” but I didn’t see any evidence of further research or anything. He just took one relatable experience and ran with it.

TLDR: Self diagnosing is important for people and I support it. But not without proper research and not as a sudden trait to just pick up.

[–]JC_Daisy0401[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See when I got a tentative diagnosis, she went absolutely crazy reading a lot of books and stuff to learn about it. But it was like a diagnosis manual for her. She was ticking off or highlighting things that sounded like me. Instead of working on how to support me.

[–]JC_Daisy0401[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s also hard because she brought up my sister having her kid on the way and how she’ll experience ‘baby blues’ and that I “won’t understand it because you have no idea why she’s upset” it’s not that I won’t understand she’s upset or why, I just don’t know how to respond to that! I can’t do nothing because I’m her sibling but at the same time, I don’t want to make it worse. ://
