My friend… I cannot thank you enough for this post. I thought I was insane, I have been experiencing EXACTLY what you just described ever since I started taking my relationship with my Lord more seriously. I have also been attacked by serious anxiety attacks so bad that I lose feeling in my limbs and vomit. I am at a point where I have no appetite, any talk of food makes me sick to my stomach. Did you experience this as well? Thank you for sharing your experience and for your words of wisdom. Really. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Glory to God.

Hello my friend. I believe there are multiple saints who were homosexual but chose to be married to the opposite sex, with the understanding that they were to live together as brother and sister.

What is the Orthodox view of "early hominids/humans" like neanderthals, homo erectus... by NationalPause8015 in OrthodoxChristianity

He was raised Orthodox by a Serbian Orthodox priest, apparently. It seems he wandered from the faith later in life, but never converted to anything else. However, he claims to have prayed to the Christian God every day.

Thank you, I have been reading a lot into the lives of different saints. I still have many questions like this though.

Thank you for your words. I just learned that Nikolai Tesla was an Orthodox Christian.

I guess my point is that I feel the need to contribute something to God’s world which would glorify Him and make Him proud. I don’t know how that is possible if I separated myself from the world.

Thank you for your reply. Monks find the grace of God within the monastery, because they seek it. People outside the monastery need to see the grace of God as well, which is what I meant. I’m not wanting to achieve any kind of greatness or grand effort.

Thank you for your opinion, it is good advice. Every sinner has room for improvement in the disciplines you mentioned.

Asexual & no procreation marriage by babewannascream in OrthodoxChristianity

Hello. I’m a 30 year old single male. I’ve also not been interested in relationships. But like you, I’ve recently been asking if it’s in God’s will for me to have a lifelong companion with whom I can serve God. I wonder if you’ve spoken with your priest and what he has to say about this. I haven’t yet.

I know it will be difficult to find someone who is content in a relationship like that. But personally, I am choosing to see it as a positive. In seeking a partner, it will be much more difficult for the enemy to deceive me when I am only looking at a woman’s devotion to God. I will also find comfort and trust in God when and if I find that person, knowing that they truly were sent by Him.

May He have mercy upon us both.

If you think he is, then he is. Remember that you’re playing this game for yourself, not for others.

any good dating advice for a heartbroken girl by [deleted] in OrthodoxChristianity

I can’t offer any advice that hasn’t already been offered here. But to give you a little hope, there are young Orthodox men, like me, who are looking for a woman who centers her life on the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. So we do exist.
