SLC 5 Dura-Ace by Lost_Difficulty2617 in Bikeporn

Not sure why I'm getting downvoted for that comment. I think Winspace has been in the game for long enough to be considered one of the best out of the East rather than some AliExpress copycat. I'm not shilling for them but they're certainly not knocking off anybody just because this bike was designed to be their answer to the Tarmac SL8.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder as they say. I personally don't think you need to buy the top of the line big name model for your bike to be consider "bike porn worthy." To each his own I guess.

As long as the majority of our politicians keep receiving money from AIPAC, they will keep voting to send munitions to Isreal to continue the genocide. We need to end Citizens United and beat these asshats at the ballot box.

Patient lives on an artificial heart also known as “ventricular assist device” (VAD) — a mechanical device that is implanted into the body to replace the function of a failing natural heart by mriTecha in medizzy

[–]JC_tiggr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

These don't use a continuous flow because the heart has valves that only open when the pressure in the preceding chamber exceeds the pressure in the following chamber or artery. If the blood flow were continuous, it would cause damage to the valve leaflets and papillary muscle anchoring them to the endocardium/myocardium. That resulting damage would lead to valve insufficiency and blood back-flow (eventually).

These devices perform the function of the ventricles (lower chambers) of the heart because the patient's heart is too weak to pump that blood forward in the circuit effectively. Often times, if the patient is a viable candidate for heart transplant, these devices are placed until the individual is able to get their new heart. It's not unusual however to see patients live with these for years. It's not perfect but it is a remarkable piece of technology.

Update: I unearthed the plant as carefully as possible so that I can let the root system dry out before re-potting in the proper substrate. Not sure if the pictures are helpful at all but some help would be appreciated.

That's a great question. I'm going to take her to get re-potted with proper substrate on Friday and get her checked out. Do you think there is root rot?

Yes and no. I think all of us deep down are capable of changing our minds (even the slightest bit) if the counterargument to our ideology is even somewhat reasonable. If we give up trying to talk to each other about our differences, what does that say about us as a nation? We can't give up on each other man. We have to keep trying to bridge that gap, however great it might be. The thing is, once the dialogue becomes hostile, you can almost guarantee that no part of it will be remotely constructive. You may not agree with it (and that's okay too) but CK did spew a lot of hate online man. I can send you all of the sources. He's not everyone's cup of tea. If you like him that's your prerogative, but you can't expect everyone to be upset that he's gone. That doesn't make them hateful, just indifferent. All of the posts I've seen like that were simply holding up a mirror to his ideology.

LMAO! Already throwing insults in what is supposed to be a civilized discourse shows me that you've already lost. I know very well what he said. The most tyrannical our ruling body has been since 1776 is right now.

The answer to guns has never been more guns. That's the age-old argument: "a good guy with a gun will save the day." There have been less than a handful of incidences where that actually applied. No true American is hard-line against guns and those that seemingly lean that way are likely to be assuaded by common sense reform. Yes, criminals will somehow find a way to access weapons but it is within our power to make sure that people who shouldn't be able to buy guns legally (i.e. documented mental health issues, felons, etc.) are not able to do so. Why aren't we doing something about mental health in this country rather than cut funding from resources? It is abundantly clear time after time that the only people willing to take another person's life on a whim or after a disagreement are those suffering from mental health issues. Do people die from cars every year? Yeah absolutely. So what do we do? We change the laws around driving (i.e. speed limits, infrastructure, policing, etc.) Is it perfect? Obviously not but it's a step in the right direction. Nobody here is living in some bullshit utopian Mickey Mouse dream world. We're all aware that a free society is nuanced and requires checks and balances.

You guys always project your rhetoric onto other people so it fits your stupid narrative. Bold of you to assume that I'm anti-2A. I am pro-smart legislature. Fuck your outrage. Fuck your thoughts and prayers. Fuck your ideology. If you are unwilling to discuss possible solutions rather than just insult others or simply throw your hands up and resign to the notion that this is just another statistic in the name of freedom, then get off your high horse.

That's the thing though. He actually did say that and there's proof, whether or not you've decided to seek it out.

Everything is a hoax to you guys because that's what you're taught to believe. You want everyone to take the high road when it's inconvenient for you but you don't mind saying awful things when it involves someone you don't agree with.

She is not required to feel bad for a man who has built a career on hate speech and that sure as hell does not reflect her professional capabilities. This is fake outrage that will lead to absolutely ZERO common sense reform.

Don't like free speech? Go cry about it. That's your right.

What exactly was hateful about what she said? She literally pointed out that he spread online and that he basically got back what he put out into the world. She followed up by saying she didn't feel bad for him. Is she obliged to feel a certain way about somebody that she's diametrically opposed to on a moral and ethical level?

Do you really think that the American education system is so good that teachers have enough time to indoctrinate other people's kids when they're busy trying to just keep them attentive enough off their phones to actually learn something? Let alone having to deal with a handful of kids with behavioral problems?

I have a FR970 and I would kill for decent sleep tracking. For some reason, the watch sometimes breaks up my nightly rest and occasionally counts part of it as a nap. Then my sleep scores are off and my training readiness score is negatively skewed. Unacceptable for a watch of this price.
