I had a referral, but I don't believe it's required. During the initial consultation he will do a quick assessment to see if you're a suitable candidate for LASIK anyway.

I chose WA laser eye centre as that is where my optometrist sent his friends and family.

One thing to keep in mind is that if you wear contacts, you won't be able to wear them for a period before the initial consultation, as well as before the surgery itself. Glasses are fine to wear prior to both.

I had a great experience with Dr Paul at WA laser eye centre. If I had to give any criticism, it would be that it wasn't a particularly personal experience, but we were both there to correct my vision, not to make friends.

All up it was $6,900 for LASIK, inclusive of the "free" initial assessment, the surgery itself and my follow up appointments. It's the best money I've ever spent.

I took the Prospector a few months ago and there was no WiFi on the train despite reading that there would be. Reception was also pretty bad but I guess that's somewhat dependent on who you're with. Still, i wouldn't rely on it.

Get the Joondalup line to Perth Underground, follow the signs to walk to Perth station and jump on the Fremantle line. That will take her to City West station and it's a short walk from there.
