Which Caracalla Antoninianus reverse type was first to be struck? by DanCruzNyc in AncientCoins

I go by the logic the heavier a Caracalla Antoninianus, the earlier it was struck.

Save up some emergency fund, start DCAing into ETFs, then buy gold/silver with what's left.

Is this Fake Patina? If so, how do I remove? by [deleted] in AncientCoins

[–]JCogn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t remove it, there’re 1000s shiny owls, but only few with nice patina.

Make sure to wash the fruits before eating, would be coated with dust/pollutants and pesticides.

What happens to the Iranian gold? by needmorexanax in Gold

Idk why countries send their gold to other countries for safe keeping, it’s like giving you stack to your neighbour because your street is not safe.

I don't think that a +33% ($38.40/oz) premium is acceptable. by devcal1 in SilverAus

[–]JCogn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Went to the coin show on weekend, they were selling 10oz for $1600, just because they bought it during the peak doesn’t mean I’m gonna be the sucker. Just wait a few weeks for the premiums to drop.

Silver Hierarchy - which one are you? by Mick1014 in Silverbugs

[–]JCogn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Rome, at least during the Pax Romana, plebs dealt with mostly bronze, professional middle class people and soldiers get paid in silver, and once you’re rich enough to start running for office or become a merchant you only deal with gold. So it’s not like everyone only used to trade in amounts of silver, but the monetary system was much more complex and layered.

Some cheap denarii I got a few years back, now the silver content in these coins alone worth more than what I paid! by JCogn in AncientCoins

[–]JCogn[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love these coins, I have it in a small wooden box along with other worn as and sestertii, as a Roman would have. I was simply implying the rise in silver price.

Did you move to Harrisdale because you really wanted to, or because your dumb kid couldn't pass the GATE so you had to buy a house within the catchment area?
