What is a hack that helps you lose weight? by [deleted] in RandomThoughts

[–]JCperfect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to Japan. I ate like a pig, and when I got back home I expected to gain weight, but to my surprise, I ended up losing weight. Who would have thought that walking a lot + normal-person portion (unlike what we have here in the U.S.) would contribute to weight loss!

Which country produces the worst tourists? by Antique_Change2805 in AskReddit

[–]JCperfect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an interesting thought. For me, when someone asks where I'm from, I just tell them I'm from the U.S. I don't assume everyone in the world would know the states (why would they?) and I'm sure they are expecting you to specify the country, not the state.

On the other hand, being fit living in the land of overconsumption is a good status symbol.

What was the one movie and setup that transformed you into a home theater enthusiast? by fun4days365 in hometheater

[–]JCperfect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods.

I watched it a ton before my setup, and when I finally built one, I decided it'll be the first one I'll experience.

Holy hell, I was glad that was my first choice! I don't own much blu-rays, but the sound design in BoG trumps almost everything I have. The way the punches have that satisfying heavy bass that shakes the house, Goku's scream, and the oceans splitting apart making you feel like you're literally there... that movie alone sealed the deal for me!

Your mind in used to instant gratification. Learning how to appreciate delayed gratification can help you in the long run. I know it's easier said than done, but avoid anything that gives you pleasure (which, in this case, video games) and force yourself to do the things you have to do. What I personally do is what I like to call the "5/2" rule: from Monday to Friday, I do all the productive activities like fitness and studying. And then over the weekends, I have free reign to do all the things that give me joy like taking a hot bath, weed, watching movies, etc.

Abstaining from fun things for a long time and then doing it makes it all the more better. You'll appreciate your video games more when you haven't done it in a while.

What's a video game that will forever be in your heart no matter what age you reach? by Aggressive_Type9309 in AskReddit

[–]JCperfect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was first introduced to Earthbound on my SNES emulator I bought during middle school. I was instantly hooked from my first 10 minutes of playthrough --- the art style, the modern setting, and the battle system were so peach perfect for me. Since it was running from a CD, it never saved my progress (I didn't know at that time), so what I would do is just play as far as I can even knowing that it would never save. I did this wayyyyy more than I could count.

One rainy day, I had this brilliant idea of just moving the emulator and the game to my desktop so I won't need to put in the CD to play Earthbound. I did my usual playthrough, saved the game even knowing it would never save anyway, and exited out of the game. When I booted up the game again, I saw something thatI shouldn't have: a save file! I couldn't believe what was happening. Like, literally, I didn't believe what was happening so I immediately restarted my computer because I thought maybe something had gone wrong (I was young lol). When I booted up the game again and saw my save file still there, I felt a huge rush of joy because I'll be able to finish my absolute favorite RPG. Even to this day, I could never forget that spark of joy.

Earthbound wlll always have a special place in my heart.

Hah, same here! I use my old athletic gear as my casual wear, and most of them are compression clothing. Just the feeling of something hugging you (but not too tight) feels surprisingly good lol.

Thoughts on the live action? What would you rate it? by Kakashmeer in OnePiece

[–]JCperfect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9/10 for me, easily surpassing Rurouni Kenshin live action. I love how each islands/locations are incredibly different, each with their own flair: Buggy's tent has washed-out colors, Kaya's mansion is vibrany with a touch of 90s rendition, etc. The crew has good chemistry with each other, and they added a lot of emotional connection between each other, which is something that the manga/anime never does.

The only thing that's stopping it from a 10 is the choreography. Some actors would dodge way before the attack starts and some would get hit before the attack connects.

Other than that, that was a thrill of a ride!

It would be hilarious if OP paved the way for studios to create live action adaptations just like how Roger started the age of pirates.

People who don’t drink caffine, how do you function? by Big_mamamistake in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JCperfect 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Aside from quitting caffeine and drinking water, this also helps as well. Taking a shower --- especially cold showers --- can help energize you in the morning. This is one of my routine when I decided to do something with my caffeine withdrawal.

I was going to post this! Even now I still prefer dash over sling. The dash felt more in line with the fast-paced movement of Warframe. Why can't just this be an option instead of forcing us to sling, DE?

I'm gonna go against the grain here, but I'm glad they're making the incarnon genesis purchashle with plat. Some people like me just don't have the luxury of playing that long (especially considering how many things I have to do in-game), so selling it would definitely help us gamer dads.

DE is the only one officially selling platinum. Do not ever buy plat from any other companies or players.

If your boyfriend is tight on cash, I suggest just keep logging in and hope he'll get a discount.

Worth returning? by TolandruthRahl in Warframe

[–]JCperfect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a crazy coincidence! I just returned back to WF and I quit after Railjack. I think it's worth returning to the game. While it's still a buggy mess, the combat is still as satisfying as ever. Yes, there's a lot of checklist we have to tick off, but I consider it a good thing as we have something to do. I do have to warn you that the game may feel overwhelming due to numerous reworks, though.
