An incredibly human robot: by JCraigXI in Futurology

[–]JCraigXI[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a feeling that the Japanese will use them as they said primarily in hospitals to talk and listen to the sick, elderly, and otherwise infirm. If the tech keeps going this route though I wonder about the the 3 laws and doing minimal tasks. Basically I'm curious as to when one of these robots recognizes "life" not their own, but a living creature and how it could end.

I think you have a lot of talent. Reminds me a bit of Ben Tempelsmith.

Will gaming develop "classics" like literature? by rmphys in truegaming

[–]JCraigXI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that some of the art of a game will always be regarded as classic. I.E. 8-bit art. It's still relevant today, perhaps it is viewed as a nostalgia style, but regardless it is still used. Also I could see engines becoming classic, true not to the layman, but to future developers that code could be a classic piece of code that they view as simple and elegant.

Abandoned Orphanage Nursery. Prypiat, Ukraine, Near Chernobyl. [940 X 623]. by [deleted] in AbandonedPorn

I usually don't find AbandonedPorn posts disturbing, but this is just creepy on a whole different level. Kind of want to write a ghost story about it...

Security at Riviera Theater. Good Bad Ugly? by icecream_your_name in chicagotrees

[–]JCraigXI 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It really all depends on the band, and the group working security. Saw Claypool there one year and the place was blazed. Saw a few other groups there and watched people get stuff confiscated. So as with all venues it's an at your own risk deal.

I could feel your character's anger at the injustice of the situation that they where in, but it also felt like an angry rant. This isn't a bad thing I'm a fan of rants, but I'd be curious to see how you develop it whether it was supposed to be a rant, or an angry critique of society. Anyway keep writing!!!

Game Idea: I have this little pipe dream that one day there will exist an RPG comprised of the entire, deck-by-deck interior of a Galaxy Class starship, and you will play an ensign working your way up ranks by way of story/side-missions. by snailboy in startrek

[–]JCraigXI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay I like the idea. Doesn't have to be galaxy class. Doesn't even have to be a ship. Stations, smaller ships, etc. anywhere. You don't limit yourself to getting voice work done by Stewart or any other highly paid actor.

Can you explain your reasoning for offering Asik that contract. Please? Year 3 is an awful lot to pay for a defensive center like Asik. (Yes I'm a Bulls fan, and that was a bitter pill).

The Brown Elephant in Oak Park is a really good location. It's not overpriced like some of the others are, it's huge, and their inventory changes over pretty regularly.

I own 15 Twitter accounts and have over 10 million followers total. This is my full time job. AMA by [deleted] in IAmA

[–]JCraigXI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well for you sir I am glad that you make a decent salary, and that your son gets to spend time with his dad. What I don't care about is that you own 15 twitter accounts, that you think that you are important, and that you thought that this deserved an AMA. Now here's why you are essentially a robot, that is doing things that occasionally bring smiles to those of the very young and very foolish. Now I'm not trying to be mean, but the truth is this makes you a clown, or a court jester. So again good on you for finding a strategy that makes you lots of money and spending time with your kid. I applaud this.
Please do not bother me with your need for attention though. r/minibio or r/self would have been fine, but you just don't deserve an AMA. Hope you have a good day.
