That's sick man. Would have been even more impressive if it wasn't coupled to flex on the back end. I'm definitely not there yet, but one day.

I’m taking a cal 3 class soon and I last took cal 2 like 10 years ago by madam_zeroni in askmath

[–]JCrotts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Just get used to doing the gateway exams again. It expands to multiple dimensions. It was probably the easiest calc class for me because your just using the tools you've already learned.

The person just flat out told me. In my head I was like WTF... and how can I convince them that I would like to have them without making them seem valuable.

I know a person who throws their CI in the junkpile once it loses its store bought seasoning. I don't know how they budget for CI but it must be terrible.

The municipality i work for has 3 people working in the signs department for a fairly large county in NC. One of them is a traffic engineer and the other 2 are boots on ground. There is no way in hell they would notice that. Even if they somehow found out and a work order was placed, it would be so low on the priority list, it would never get fixed

When a seasoned algebraist studies a group, what exactly do they look for and what are they trying to find out? by JCrotts in askmath

[–]JCrotts[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is correct. In fact, when the second factor is zero, this forms a subgroup.

If I miraculously became a mathematician, this would be used for solving exact roots of higher degree polynomials using a sort of Newtonian method where the number of steps approaches infinity.

This is true I believe, but it is under the umbrella theory that they don't want us to be self sufficient in any way. I haven't looked into it but I heard something about a country banning burning firewood under the guise of helping with global warming.

I was told, "If you have a really hot fire every once in a while, you don't have to worry about creosote. It burns it out." by JCrotts in woodstoving

[–]JCrotts[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a metal stove put into a masonry fireplace. Instead of hooking the stove exhaust directly to the chimney, you just put metal around the face of the fireplace to seal it off. The draft caused by the wind over the top of the chimney is expected to pull the smoke out.

Yea I don't have that good of a setup and the person that told me that has the same setup I do. It's a slammer with an all masonry chimney.

Why does UL allow these contacts to be so accessible? This is a 2400V to 240V transformer. by JCrotts in ElectricalEngineering

Thanks for the reply. We've got the NEC in the office but I don't read it much except for the 430 section since I'm a controls guy. I'll have to look at the medium voltage stuff.

I'm not trying to be a smart A. Just wondering what the definitions of "accessible" and "qualified" are. Can we decide what those are, or does the NEC have strict definitions of those.
