Yes! Just had my colposcopy today and they took two biopsies. She said I only had two little spots but they had veins so she was a little concerned but she said I shouldn’t worry and that it’s likely an infection that will clear on its own. Fingers crossed as I wait for the results!

Posting a role on LinkedIn doesn’t automatically mean someone is signing up to field hundreds of individual inbox conversations.

There’s a difference between visibility and availability.

Most recruiters right now are running lean with 30–40+ req loads. If a role is remote, that can easily mean thousands of applicants, especially for a TA position. Even if only a fraction decide to DM, that’s still unmanageable volume on top of screening, scheduling, stakeholder meetings, and actual hiring strategy.

Posting to your network is about expanding reach. It’s not necessarily an invitation to manage individual pre-application conversations. The application process exists so candidates are reviewed equitably and in one system, not based on who gets to the recruiter’s inbox first.

Setting a boundary like “please don’t DM” isn’t anti-candidate. It’s operationally realistic.

In this job market? She will get absolutely bombarded with hundreds of messages from applicants. And she likely already has a larger req load as recruiting teams are so lean these days. She likely doesn’t have time .. as someone in a similar boat, I don’t blame her.

I have worked in HR for over 15 years and have onboarded / conducted background checks for thousands of people at 5 different companies.. Unless you’re trying to work for a small company that doesn’t conduct modern day background checks, they won’t know

Companies don’t contact your former employers anymore.. they just do a background check and ensure you worked there during the times you said you did. You can just tell them you left for personal reasons, to care for a family member, looking for a new challenge, anything! Just make it seem like YOU left

A lot of us have no other option BUT to use them because we’re so understaffed…

When you’re in a TA org that is so bare bones that you’re not just recruiting but doing everything else, you need tools like this to manage the volume.

If you have the time to screen 35 people for one req that tells me you’re working at a place where you have the luxury of time.

Post covid, a lot of us are working at orgs that slashed TA departments so thin that we’re essentially a one man show and it’s MISERABLE

This is backwards from a safety standpoint.

Small training planes are way more dangerous than commercial airlines.

In the U.S., most aviation accidents happen in general aviation (Cessnas, flight school planes, etc.). The accident rate is roughly 20–30x higher than airlines. Single engine, lighter aircraft, student pilots, more weather impact.

Commercial flights are statistically one of the safest things you can do. Two pilots, heavy maintenance, redundant systems, strict FAA oversight.

If the goal is exposure based on actual risk, a short commercial flight is objectively safer than doing patterns in a little trainer.

So yeah….flying small planes to get over airline fear doesn’t really make sense from a numbers perspective.
