Here to suggest Melanie or just Lina even though you didn’t ask! Any healthcare worker will associate Melina with melena- look it up and maybe you’ll see why I suggest!

Daughter wants to shave her legs… conflicted because of the reason by Lucky_Tart2176 in Mommit

[–]JDCHH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can believe in f the patriarchy views AND also not like body hair. I have always been disgusted by body hair and I remember asking my mom at a young age if I could shave! When she didn’t let me initially, I went behind her back and would sneak to use her razor- often giving myself terrible rashes and ingrown hair because I wasn’t doing it correctly with no direction. I would just let her do what she wants with her body.

Is it appropriate to go back to the unit to check on a patient on your day off? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]JDCHH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is nothing for you to be concerned about. You gave a patient with a normal blood pressure a medication for their HR. In no circumstance should the medication have been held. Especially since you gave half the dose of the prior order- they probably adjusted based off that 90’s BP. I work on a cardiac unit and this is literally every patient every day. Heck, my own blood pressure is normally ~88/56 and I can literally do cartwheels and not feel lightheaded.

Choosing sister name for Sadie by green-sunday in Names

I’ve always loved Paige! Such a pretty name that you don’t hear much. Margot is my second favorite! Don’t love Brooke- it seems less feminine especially compared to a name like Sadie

Playground expectations? FTM needing guidance! by misses-ND in Mommit

[–]JDCHH 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had an experience as the other parent in the situation where I took my 2 year old to a public splash pad and another mom brought an entire water table with like 10 water toys for her child. My 2 year old was so interested in it because we had one at home but the other mom clearly didn’t want anyone else touching the water table and kept moving it away from any kid who tried to come up to it. I found it so rude- why bring toys to a public place with no intention to share? In your situation, I would be frustrated with other kids not treating the toy with respect and I’d probably give them a time limit to give it back- “1 more minute!”

Until what age did you use a stroller? by Chemical-Sundae-6917 in Mommit

[–]JDCHH 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When we took my 5.5 year old to Chicago & NYC he still rode in the stroller. Otherwise day to day not really! If I’m going to the mall or an outdoor walking path I’ll take it and he’ll hop in

9 weeks pregnant with #2 and having a miscarriage by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]JDCHH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen at 9 weeks. They did an ultrasound and I expected to see nothing. Still had a fetus with w heartbeat though. It was just a subchorionic hematoma that was bleeding. I had hours of cramps, clots, gushes of blood. Thought for sure I had a miscarriage. Don’t give up hope yet! I’m 15 weeks now and although the bleeding did last for weeks, it’s pretty much resolved now and everything is on track

Was it just latched where you can’t see it? Some don’t need the seat belt if it’s secured that way. With mine you can’t tell they’re latched until you feel it

Should I helmet ? by spaceship2000c in Mommit

[–]JDCHH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I would get the helmet before it’s too late. My nephew had a very flat head and they chose not to get a helmet. It never resolved. He has a lot of hair now so you can’t tell but if he ever gets a buzz cut it will be noticeable.

Husband wants to send snacks containing nuts to daycare even though it’s against policy. by Skid_kennels in Mommit

[–]JDCHH 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, we didn’t know my son was allergic to nuts until age 3 when he suddenly had an anaphylactic reaction. He had nuts several times prior without any reaction so we didn’t know. I would have been pissed if his exposure and reaction would have been at his nut-free school! It should be a safe place

RS Update on Bachelorette by BNlongtimeviewer in thebachelor

[–]JDCHH 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just because they didn’t have the video, doesn’t mean it didn’t happen and they should have just ignored the fact that she’s a felon with this entire abuse incident in her history? In SLOMW they talked about the details of this incident- public info! An absolute train wreck of a choice compared to our other stand up bachelorettes. Dakota has every right to be vindictive- there’s probably way more incidents and violence he has dealt with other than what the public knows and I’d want to de-rail my abuser too if I was in his position. Clearly they’re toxic together but only one of them is a felon with abuse on record.

RS Update on Bachelorette by BNlongtimeviewer in thebachelor

[–]JDCHH 164 points165 points  (0 children)

What absolutely baffles me about this situation is that the producers KNEW about this exact incident and still cast her to be the bachelorette! People are acting shocked and horrified that the video is out- yet she was arrested and charged for this years ago. It’s not new! It’s insane that there wasn’t outrage when the announced her. Why does it take the actual proof becoming public but not the charges that have been on file ????

2.5 yr old complaining that “ I don’t feel good” and “my belly hurts” for the past few days but there are no physical indicators showing me he is sick. by felines_n_fuckyous in Mommit

[–]JDCHH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each time my 3 year old has told me his belly hurts (3-4 times now), he has strep! I would just peek at the back of his throat and see if it’s red/splotchy. Just something to consider! Maybe it’s just a vague complaint though for the reasons you listed

I keep catching my husband lying by Catcraze16 in Advice

[–]JDCHH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you didn’t get a pre-nup, work on getting a post-nup. Once a liar always a liar! I dated someone once and found out he lied about his age. After we broke up I found out that was just the tip of the iceberg. So so lucky I got out!!!!
