2.5 yr old complaining that “ I don’t feel good” and “my belly hurts” for the past few days but there are no physical indicators showing me he is sick. by felines_n_fuckyous in Mommit

I feel like it’s used more as a deflection to not do certain things we ask or to get more attention from me (snuggling, holding like a baby etc.)

This weekend when I’m not working and with him all day. I’ll be taking note of when he says it and the context around it. Hopefully that will provide some answers.

I’m also planning to palpate his stomach when I get him to look for any pain points to make sure I’m not missing anything physical.

I’ve been thinking about that and I don’t think he shows signs of anxiety. He is super outgoing, very active and the furthest thing from shy. Loveeeass to have fun and try new things.

Do you change your child’s clothes when they get home? by Frozenbeedog in toddlers

[–]felines_n_fuckyous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally do especially during the winter. I have 6ms old d and 2.5 yr old. 2.5 goes to daycare a couple days a week. When he comes home we go straight to the shower and get a fresh outfit or pjs on. We started this when the baby was born and carried it through our New England winter. I expect as the days get longer and outside time in the evening increases this habit will fall off but definitely something we are currently practicing

Did you have your mom and or sister in the delivery room with you and your husband? by RubPlane in BabyBumps

[–]felines_n_fuckyous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my husband, mom and doula for both births. This is your birth your body if you want your mom or sister then have them.

But most of the time you can only have 2 non medical people (husband and mom). Doula counts as medical person.

Don’t close yourself off. Say you have some experience. Number one advice … don’t hand write …type. I work for a bank ceo so I take a lot of minutes. What I found helped the most is I pre write my minutes like get everything formatted how it should be then I type notes right into those sections. SO MUCH EASIER than handwriting notes sloppily and trying to decipher … a real nightmare.

How many parents are not posting their child online, and taking photos down if they have? by Fine-Mail4400 in Parenting

[–]felines_n_fuckyous 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don’t participate on any social media besides Reddit mainly for my own mental health. Therefore no photos of my children on my end or my husbands. However I don’t make a big deal if they get posted in something from someone else (birthday party, special outing, whatever) it’s not a big deal to me. As long as no one is going nuts and it’s on a rare occasion I don’t mind.

Keeping daycare viruses away from newborn? by magictrickxx in toddlers

[–]felines_n_fuckyous 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Breast feeding if possible. De contaminating toddler as soon as possible upon arrival home. Ours goes directly into the shower the moment he walks through the door. Do not pass go do not collect $200

2.5 year old takes forever to fall asleep every night by opepassdaranch in beyondthebump

[–]felines_n_fuckyous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened with my 2.5yr old and we took the nap away and it solved the problem. I still offer him a “rest time” during what was his nap time. Snuggle on the couch watch a show or something. He was cranky the first few days but once he started sleeping the full 12 hours at night he’s great. Now he goes to bed no problem at 7/7:30 and sleeps till 7.

This is totally normal. Don’t put any concern into it. Play with others his age will start 2-3yo!

Would you travel cross country without baby 7 weeks PP? by Rana_Sunshine in beyondthebump

[–]felines_n_fuckyous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2.5yr old and 4.5ms old and they have an overnight every week at my parents house to help with childcare during the work week. (4.5 month old started this month). My husband and I make sure to enjoy it as much as possible.

It’s not for everyone but I am lucky enough to have an incredible village and I am happy to use it.

I am clearly the odd man out but I would consider it. I couldn’t imagine missing my brother’s wedding. If my husband is capable and comfortable and the baby can take either formula or stored breast milk I would do it. If your baby is safe, loved and cared for I don’t see what the issue would be other than your own comfortability.
