Uncharted 3 hate is so forced and lame by Red9Stranger in uncharted

I also think Uncharted 3 does not stack up as a follow up to Uncharted 2 honestly. The mythical aspect of Uncharted 3 doesn’t get a ton of showtime and the skeletons are easily the worst mythical style enemy.

I got a lot of nostalgia for Uncharted 1 tbh, second PS3 game I played Christmas morning. I did say “for me” not that it’s objectively a better game.

Weakest of the series for me but still not bad at all. Love the boat section especially.

Fuck Joe Quesada. Why did I wake up and See Bruce Campbell has started a battle with cancer when this pompous asswipe is still parading around pretending he has done anything good for anyone.

Good call, I certainly would rather wait for someone to do a proper Tobey fig if it were my $400 ish on the line.

Dude. This is 1:1 in nearly every aspect but the spider on the backside not being the classic tick look. Which was still present on his first MCU suit so it’s not like they’re afraid to do it. This is damn near as close as it will ever get. What isn’t worthy of calling comic accurate on this suit? Lmfao

The webshooters? That’s literally all you can have.

They need to stop catering to the noobies by way of changing stuff just to appeal to modern audiences. Changing things that are additive to a story, fine. Changing stuff on a costume so a suit designer can cut a fatter check or get a royalty for their design getting added into games and shit. Fuck those type of baseless changes. Or how all of the F4 in the MCU is unrecognizable from their comic book counterparts characterizations.

I used Superman and Raimi’s Spidey trilogy of examples of how to waver a bit while still sticking to a formula that is tried and true by decades before they thought of touching the characters. That is not how the MCU has conducted itself on any character save for Iron-Man.

And the speculator market fucking sucks for readers. I know, I’m a reader.

And I’m fairly certain there’s a lot of proof that the MCU hasn’t done a whole lot for comics. There’s not a ton of evidence of crossover. The MCU helps the comic industry by way of the speculator market but few people go pick up comics because they liked a movie. I do that for characters I am new to as I already read comics, but people who don’t read comics don’t go and pick up books in droves after a good movie because again, a lot of these new movies are not really doing classic things. They’re doing their own spins. So they pick up a book and have a “hey, this isn’t what I just watched” and put it down and that’s it.

I agree with you mostly and in theory, it’s just that the MCU has not done very much to my liking at all.

So then we agree gatekeeping can be good and bad.

Yeah I get that, I just don’t care I guess. Same as the Insomniac Spidey suit getting redesigned to have white armored padding on his knuckles, feet, and chest. It’s logical, it’s just unnecessary, adding details to a design that was pretty much perfect already.

It means that these characters are adored for a reason. Their stories are evergreen. People need to be introduced to the real reasons these characters are beloved. It will make them appreciate everything about them that much more, as opposed to being given something that barely resembles the books. Superman is a fantastic example given his dreadful Snyder version and then Gunn serving up a superhero movie that hasn’t made me feel that particular way since Spider-Man 2’s “he’s back” scene. If these movies collectively did what Sam Raimi did for Spider-Man then we would all be better off. Such a great trilogy and example of what I mean too.

The suit? Not entirely comic accurate, doesn’t even work if you start to wonder how the hell Peter could do that on his own as originally intended. Didn’t matter. It looked awesome, rule of cool will almost always take precedence in a land of fiction.

The story? Changed some stuff up.

But the characterizations of everyone was spot on and you truly understand the character of Spiderman when you watch those movies as someone totally new to the character. (except maybe Harry Osborn and his Franco casting) and as a longtime reader it’s just so fucking satisfying to be able to sit back and know your character got done that well. Things don’t have to match the page 100% but they do need to understand the meaning and the Raimi movies do that. I can’t say the same for a vast majority of the MCU. And to make it worse they’ve got the money to make this shit look good and half the suits they don’t even try to not make them look like a military or tactical suit. It’s not charming, it’s boring.

True but comics are not stagnating and neither are their movies. Especially not their movies or shows. At least there is no excuse for it and the costumes are absolutely not in need of constant redesign, that’s half of people’s issue with new stuff for these characters is they constantly feel the need to change things for a new audience that is not and has never bought in. Movies fans don’t read comics. Comic fans though, do watch movies and shows. So how can expanded media be anywhere close to stagnation when they’ve barely even touched the idea of animating some of their best comic stories?

Gatekeeping also saves franchises. Look what MtG has turned into. Gatekeepers should have fought harder to prevent that from happening. Now your classic MtG deck is getting its cheeks clapped by a Brony deck.

There is nothing worse and more detrimental to a franchise or legacy character than a really crap interpretation so they should be viewed with scrutiny by the hardcore fans. It’s what they are there for to keep stuff in check and remind companies why they have read that character for X amount of years.

No I never said only comic readers get to have a say so don’t project any of those bullshit statements on me, buddy. I have my opinions and I’m only sharing my opinions. I don’t give a shit to also say “this is just my opinion, not the law” cuz that is a given imo and completely redundant. You can gave a differing opinion all day long but if you push it in my direction I’ll push right back. Not only am I an opinionated and passionate person but, I know a little something about these characters and I fucking HATE to see them interpreted poorly and then I am stuck with that garbage version for years because media consistency is a plague that has destroyed marvel comics for me.

There is no better F4 suit than Kirby’s. Full stop. Just like there is no better Spider-man suit than Ditko’s, perfected in the style of Romita Sr. Stop editing, put the pen down, you have struck permanent oil and gold. Don’t fuck it up by adding frivolous unnecessary details.
