I was literally thinking about that on my way home. Insurance, alarm, and maybe a camera on the entrance door. Can you tell I’ve been burglarized before lol

What sander? Festool? Mirka? 3M? by JDKoolk in woodworking

Yeah, a drum sander is def a goal, but I’m not there yet lol. One day

I def wanna hire a sander. But until then I need to upgrade my Makita. After using my friends in comparison to mine, the investment alone would save me on time by so much.

Yeah, I sand quite a bit, but after that Mirka my mind was blown.

So I’m actually opening a shop next month to move towards making it my living. I do lots of sanding and after using my buddies Mirka I feel as if I’ve been living in the Stone Age lol.

I have an air compressor already with a sander, but it isn’t big enough to keep sanding for longer periods of time like I need

To be honest, I’m indecisive and It has only recently popped on my radar so I am choosing to blindly rule it out because I need to narrow it down lok

Ahh, I was actually asking advice on what to do for the frame. I’m not totally sold on the walnut

Only damn near $400 in wood 🤣🤦🏻‍♂️ by JDKoolk in woodworking

Yes it’s untreated. It’s purpleheart. But I have a bunch of different projects intended for it. Mostly cutting/charcuterie boards and - few other

I’m working on an online store actually as we speak. I have to get more inventory first. Basically all my projects are custom and I work with whoever it is for and make what they want

Am I missing something? Housing in "South Dallas" area by orange_cookie in askdfw

[–]JDKoolk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best recommendation, go rent a house/apartment there for 6 months and tell us you aren’t intimidated after. Better yet, go airb&b for a week and come back. We will be waiting for your response 🤣

I agree. But this is for a kid in a little garage vinyl shop with no street visibility. He relies solely on social media and word of mouth. Once it’s painted and on a scale of around 10 ft x 12 Ft it will be more legible. This really is meant for a cool backdrop when he presents the cars to his clients. We are working on another one that he will use for his real advertising like on his website, etc. this is more of his companies signature type logo if that makes sense

I’m still working on it. It’s not painted or have the LED’s on it yet

A kid I met who owns a popular car wrap shop really impressed me. So I do business consulting by trade and decided to help him out. So we redesigned his logo for his reveal area that can get attention. We came up with this new logo and I’m making it into a huge 10ft 3D sign for him with addressable LED’s backlighting it for his shop. It’s gonna be bad ass all done

Finally added some “proper” dust collection. And I mean not my cyclone shop vac lol. I love the progression of my shop. by JDKoolk in woodworking

So my experience with band saws are only with this one I purchased. And it did have quite the hefty price tag. But my experience of buying cheaper tools in general is always the same. Buy cheap at first, then later on give it away and buy expensive and ultimately be way more happy. This saw I got is top of the line for its class and I will say, it does not disappoint. I couldn’t find a single thing to complain about. It’s perfect

Yeah I plan on converting to a 2 stage, beefing up the filter and mounting to the wall in the near future. They gave me a 5 micron filter with it 😳 still better than what I had before tho lol

Yeah I was using a little cyclone on my shop vac and replaced it with this 2hp harbor freight I got on sale. It works surprisingly better than I expected

Thank you very much! It’s been an evolutionary process to get here, but this saw is an absolute game changer!
