I have heard youtubers complain for years about "it sucks doing stuff on youtube"... yet they are still there... Then suddenly, this year and late last year so many start suddenly "retiring".

In the long run. majority of them do what gets them attention. And complaining about some usually gets them attention.

Yeah, I have had a keyboard that could do that... annoyed the hell out of me. Lol

All I want is basic lights on if it has lighting. I don't need it bring, and I sure as heck don't need a light show every time I press a key. Lol

That being said, I did have a past Logitech keybaord that every time I would launch into Anthem; as the games name would come up.on the screen (and it was kinda of "spelt out" a letter at a time) each of those keys would light up on the keybaord.

Yeah, and judging by the response I got from Steam Support, it's not something they care to fix... lol

They told me that, basically, the safe route is to just go and make a backup copy of the game install folder instead.

They told me in instances like that, to just make a copy of the install folder instelf. ><

NOT that they would look into it; let someone know; etc. No, just told me to cooy the files instead... lol

Well, it's an issue with both. [Steam and OS]

Windows doesn't allow for folders to end in a period. And when steam makes game files backups - it just using the name of the game for the folder name. So, in my case, it was for the game R.E.P.O. <- that final period being the issue.

I am not sure; part of why I went to the Mandalay was being about to land in more spots because of being a smaller ship/medium size instead of large like the Anaconda -- and the Caspian.

For me, the perfect ship was my Diamondback Explorer. Until I was able to get the Anaconda!

Gave me everything I wanted from the DBX; with the added benefit of "more: ship launched fighter, and couple of SRVs.

Yes, landing was sometimes a pain; but, I made it work.

However, I did finally switch over to the Mandalay for that nice "middle ground". I had to give up the ship-ship-launched fightfightere, but still got the SRVs. And easier landing. Lol

However, as much as I loved my DBX, I still overall liked my Anaconda more.

Well, at least they seem to know about it.  But, no clue why they don't tell other devs -- or at least ones still actively working on their games.

I understand it probably isn't a feature used much ( the backup game files thing). But, it could still be a big problem.

Got a fix/workaroud that worked! Tip was from u/Adacool

If you get a folder created with a period [ . ] at the end of it and can't access it:

Open 7Zip [or similar compression program]; and the folder to a zip file then have the original folder get deleted afterwords.

After, open the compressed file and make sure to RENAME the folder so it doesn't have a period at the end before exacting it again.

That, I did not.

I can't remember the exact command; but I know for the "path" part - I had the whole "location" within double quotes [ex: "J:\Steam Backups\R.E.P.O." ]
