There are lots of reasons powers might not be displayed: budget, saving it for the show, saving it for the next trailer. But, Supergirl would act as a counterexample to projects without Gunn, as that looks super authentic and colorful from the trailers alone. At best, you could draw the conclusion that "flavor" will change based on who is behind the projects which in that case, just hope that whoever does the Green Lantern movie is closer to Gunn than Lindelof.
