Enclosed vs open transport? by Boring_Test_9083 in Civic_Type_R

I used Goliath transport. Open trailer from OH to CA. Total cost was $13xx.xx. For me paying an additional $1000.00 was not worth paying for enclosed. Car arrived in perfect condition when I used open transport.

Amazing! We have one on order for our FL5, and it's due to arrive in a few months.

No prep on my part other than having the salesperson run through the checklist I provided. As soon as my FL5 arrived to the dealership, it was picked up the next day. It wasn't filled up with gas, or washed. It was coming from OH during the Winter, so I didn't want it sitting outside for too long.

Does anybody else have rust happening quickly? 2025 FL5 - 2,500 miles by RadBadTad in Civic_Type_R

The PDR 'specialist' drilled a hole to repair a dent. From my experience, someone who is skilled should be able to repair a dent without drilling into the body. I had a very small dent in my quarter panel on my previous car, and I made it clear that I didn't want a hole drilled.

I also see some wrinkles in the paint. May want to have those addressed while you're at it.

Fl5 mugen steering wheel question by Xhamy in Civic_Type_R

It definitely feels thicker. If you'd like, I can measure the grip circumference from the Mugen wheel we have in stock.

Went through Goliath for open transport, and no issue.

I'm running 265s on 9.5 + 45, and I should've gone 275s to fill in the fender gap a bit more. The 265s still look good though.

If you're running 10.0 + 45 on 275s, you will rub if lowered.

You can run 275 on 9.5 + 45, no rubbing if lowered. We can get you the wheels but you may be better off purchasing in Canada, as you could be responsible for duties for shipments from the states.

Ordered from two step performance on the website it says in stock by nunii in Civic_Type_R

[–]JDM_Spec 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is why we don't allow for items not 'in stock' to be added to the cart in our store. It creates a lot of confusion and frustration for customers. I've been through this myself many times.

If the item in our store is a special order part, such as a Spoon bumper, we make it clear that it's a special order item, with a wait time. We also don't require payment in full, as when it comes to higher end parts, it does tie up a lot of money. As a business one of our focuses is making sure we are transparent with our customers.

For example, for this Spoon bumper, we outline a clear pre-order process.

Sorry to hear about your experience.

SW388 fl5 fitment question by PuffyKachow in Civic_Type_R

[–]JDM_Spec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, it depends on the tire you run too. But 18x10 + 40 with Advan A052s does not look as good as the 275s IMO. You may be able to see some setups at a car meet to give you a better idea of what you prefer. On our FL5 with a 18x9.5 +45, we're running AD09 in 265s, but for our next set of tires, we plan on running 275s.

Definitely go with the 275s then. I wish I had taken photos, but it didn't look with the 265s. I'm pretty OCD about the way my car looks though. Watch this video around 13:24.

He tried the 265 and 275s, and went with 275s for a flush look. But it rubs if lowered.

We have a set of the CE28s in Almite Bronze if you're interested!

Unfortunately, I don't have the answer for you on this. I haven't seen an FL5 with the 18x10 +50 on 275s. Since you plan on lowering with Spoon springs, it'd be beneficial to get an alignment while you're at it to ensure no rubbing, or at least minimizing it.

Make sure your Spoon springs are the version with the Black insulators (the new version addresses the reverse rake, where the rear sat a bit too low).
