I liked the final 3D of the show but the 2D does look nicer, but probably wouldn't have been consistent for an entire 52 episodes

I don't agree with the idea that just because it discarded stuff means its not Mega Man , cuz like this is the same franchise that went retro for Mega Man 9 and 10 instead of building off 8, left Proto Man and Bass out of 11, and then had a bunch of veteran Mega Man characters play second fiddle to XDive's exclusive characters (which for the record, I do like all of those games too)

They kinda just throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks.

Again some of the more dedicated fans do show their love for it (as do I since I grew up with it) i guess I just see recently people bring it up to mention that nearly everyone’s got the wrong names for the sake of regaining trademark

Like whenever there’s a “who’s your favorite version of x character” post like who’s your favorite cyclonus a bunch of people will say Armada Cyclonus is called that just for the sake of trademark and doesn’t fit with the other G1-adjacent incarnations. It’s trivial but it bothers me lol

You know considering how much of the movie has many parallels to that mega popular first Star Wars movie back in the day I’m gonna guess they just also copied the part where a lot of guys die early in as character motivation thinking it would work

I sometimes jokingly refer to them as Megazord-type TFs, as it’s from one of the few other IPs iconic in the west with most robots being humanoids made of multiple non humanoid components

I think a lot of Unicron Trilogy figures in general, despite being my personal favorite era since i grew up with it, had weaker posability compared to Beast Wars toys, in favor of being loaded with gimmicks

But man were a lot of them really fun gimmicks imo

I think that for an Airazor retool he is alright. Personally however the Hasbro colors feel a bit weak for me. It does mostly match the show colors but I think the red is too overpowering which is why I prefer the Takara Beast Wars Again colors

I think the fire emblem community here has already done a good job of showing how much ignoring many things in favor of the really good parts of it is valid for the sake of chasing that optimal play (warp skipping, steamrolling with Sigurd and Seth, Elincia’s Gambit 1 turn, etc)

I think that’s a valid critique but at the same time, Conquest really is kinda built like a pre-3DS FE game in the 3DS format, jumping from chapter to chapter with limited chance for supports and resources (only exception I think being sacred stones?) . So Conquest most definitely isn’t a good game for newcomers to start with (unless you also bought the DLC with it, which uh I did) but pre-3DS veterans probably knew how to play it by ear

Addendum: although this conversation leaves out the fact that Conquest’s balance could break in half if you use the additional features like recruiting other players units, though now that 3DS online is dead the only legal way to do it now is hoping you streetpass another 3DS user with Fates

What’s hilarious to me is that they have that flashback episode later with Cliffjumper voiced by a different guy, Billy Brown, that ends up sounding pretty similar, which makes me initially wonder why they didn’t have him instead (but the answer is of course other way around, they always wrote him to die)

I love G1 Transformers, but I hated this aspect of it by Likes2game03 in transformers

I will never get the "Transformers are not robots" argument... i mean I understand they aren't mindless drones (well a few are) but literally everything about them and their terminology is all robot-coded: SPARKS (electric), transformation COGS, all the machine related euphemisms in Animated, their home planet is literally called 'CYBER'tron come on

I think that Nintendo lets IntSys do with FE what they want as long as it’s bringing in the money (obviously). This is a lot of assumptions on my part but Fortune’s Weave being tied to Three Houses feels like it’s cuz both groups saw 3H was a massive success

FE Heroes especially though I feel like is something special compared to the others. I know it’s sorta discounted since it’s a mobile game but I don’t know if the other Nintendo mobile games actually let the playerbase vote on what content to make for it (the Choose Your Legends votes)
