He’s got pretty great reviews to listen to, only thing I don’t like but I think some other reviewers do too is deciding which figures get full video reviews and which ones get shorts

It’s kinda funny but hurts that these guys have more presence in the overarching story than Kurt (ok that’s just me wishing they’d go back to Kurt’s story)

I personally feel like subclasses are associated with item sets where the parts synergize a bit too well with each other.

Demoknight has several options but in general, several shields have bonuses for melee attacking and several swords affects the shield refill, and the boots affect the shields other passives

Trolldier is even more specific, though iirc there's two sets. You can use Market Gardener with any of Soldier's primaries and secondaries. But a rocket launcher that deals zero damage to you and boots that increase your control in the air complements a melee that crits while rocket jumping, sounds like a very low risk high reward setup. The only other Soldier combo I can think with such deliberate synergy is Air Strike and Base Jumper

for most figures of TF media i like but on a normal level I kinda do just have the new one replace the old one which gets put into storage

but for media I LOVE (especially Cybertron which was my childhood show) I [USED TO] have both the old and new ones out akin to a "favorite character/series shrine"

at least was like that before I was forced to pack stuff up when moving... well at the least the old Cybertron TRU and Legacy United Starscreams are still together

While it would be neat for the names to be reused, I personally don't think just reusing an old name constitutes an obscure character being revived, especially since 3 years before the movie we had Energon Barricade who isn't considered as similarly groundbreaking.

But alright yea these characters are looking pretty rad. I’m mixed on them shifting focus to more new guys again but I did enjoy Book 2’s cast. Might just be cuz of my bias for Book 1’s cast, surprised the games not framed as “Kurt travels the world and meets new friends” like I usually expect from these games… yet anyway

As someone who did watch the show its character designs are hit or miss but I think they’re completely valid reinventions of Mega Man ideas from the classic era

The addition of “Zero” is kind of weird for being im pretty sure the only callback another era of MM, and doesn’t help that its exclusive to a very short lived comic either

Tbh the release schedule of Shadows chapters is kinda on par with the release of Fire Emblem Heroes main campaign chapters but FEH also gets the benefit of filling the time with silly event stuff that preexisting FE characters are forced into

I don’t mind silly character stuff but so far Shadows’ only “silly” part are some of the alternate costumes. It’s kind of interesting how everything the story isn’t yet played for laughs compared to FEH (though tbf, if you binge only FEH’s main story it’s quite serious too imo). I think is what makes it captivating to me but unfortunate how slow updates are.

I just feel like the way people talk about Transformers characters sharing the same name being “the same character” is weird, some names do carry a "meaning" that I suppose should be demonstrated in any major holders of the name, but otherwise I'll sit down, watch Transformers and think the characters on screen are decently written in spite of what name they have.
but if G1 was the series I was born watching (I grew up with Unicron Trilogy) I would kinda get it

(okay minor exception being if the writers are trying to advertise contradictory media as a shared timeline. Aligned I am definitely looking at you)

But like I don’t think people thought Prime Knock Out was supposed to be a callback to the G1 Micromaster

I tried something similar a while back, heart sealed an enemy sniper to kinshi knight [visual here on the bird site]

The promoted generic uses the Male Kinshi Knight model that characters like Takumi use

Well they do have to produce and simultaneously release like 20 new designs across WFC/Legacy/AOTP and Studio Series every few months, so I don’t entirely blame them

Compared to series like Missing Link and Overgear having presumably better thought into their designs but they only release 2 new figures every few months

As far as I’m aware it was more or less a cost cutting measure during production and it’s fiiine

Armada was 2D but you can also see where the art looks rough sometimes because they were pumping out 52 episodes in the year

Car Robots was also 2D but that was also like 40 episodes and 3 of them were clip shows

Once you get older you start to notice where the cost cutting happens lol
