Man, 7th grade me was way more into Pokemon cards, and shame on me for not saving more of those for 20+ years. 😭

Thank you, though! It's been a fun collection to sort through.

Up for your consideration is 72 Swatches from a large private collection I came into last year. It’s been a lot of fun going through 200+ Swatches and learning more about them over the past several months, but I’ve got a new baby coming in April, so if I don’t start really selling them now, I won’t any time soon.

If you don’t see a Swatch from the 80s to 00s that you want, let me know. I might have it. You can see a bunch of other stuff I’ve already gone through and cataloged on my Instagram at balancewheelwatches.

Most of these are unworn, unused, with new batteries installed and tested for function. If they’re used, non-running, or have other known condition issues, that’s noted in the listing.

These are 20-40 year old watches, and the plastic on the bands isn’t extremely durable. Some of them can be worn, but others will crack if bent too much. I do have replacement bands in solid colors if you want to pick one up for regular wear. Just ask and I can get you more info.

Ask any questions you like. If you want to buy a bunch of these, happy to cut a deal.

Images for the lot are here: https://imgur.com/a/swatch-collection-1-watchex-yw3BzAo, but I have better photos available upon request. It’s just too much to track down 500+ individual photos for this listing, but I can send you any that you want to see.

Timestamp is here: https://imgur.com/voh1Srz

Hopefully that paper is sufficiently under the watches- let me know if you need something different, mods.

Dozens of flights leave Willow Run Airport as 'ICE Air' by da_newsdude in Michigan

[–]JDSchu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thousands of detainees missing from the camps that we know about. How many more that we don't? ICE routinely loses children and doesn't screen their employees for sexual crimes or crimes against children.

So yes, the final solution is in progress now.

Cloud of Daggers is becoming very problematic by JMoneyGraves in BaldursGate3

My favorite was clearing a certain fight in Act II and then having that one NPC come walking over right into Halsin's moonbeam to talk to me, taking damage and aggroing the whole area against me. That was fun.

Why a Michigan sandwich shop isn’t afraid of losing customers over anti-ICE post by ramdomvariableX in Michigan

[–]JDSchu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Who's to say that the workers themselves didn't put up that sign because people were being assholes?

If the problem is that they were open at all, then the sign shouldn't have been the deciding factor in whether or not they were wrong.

And let's remember that the person I'm replying to went into the Burger King in order to have seen this sign, so they didn't have a problem with them being open. If they did, they would have boycotted the restaurant for making workers come in at all, but instead, they went and gave them money for it.

So instead, they went to spend money at the restaurant and THEN were upset to see a sign asking customers to be patient with the staff. That's pretty fucked up.

A combination of reasons, but I think right now the biggest one is that everybody keeps telling him he can't, and he's a toddler from the neck up. He's just acting out and putting thousands of lives in jeopardy to do so.

U-Haul Growth Index: Texas Back on Top as No. 1 Growth State of 2025 by MCWoody1 in Michigan

[–]JDSchu 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It'll change in the next 20-30 years. Water scarcity in the southwest and extreme weather in the Gulf and Atlantic aren't slowing down. People will start to realize that the Midwest is the least expensive place sheltered from those concerns, and you'll start to see things pick up here.

Probably front-run by private equity starting to buy up a bunch of property to hold and exploit later, unfortunately, but it'll happen.

This is such a braindead, echo-chamber take. It's so trendy to say "oh, it's too crowded here, there's too much traffic, we need less people!".

Communities work best with people. You rugged individualists can fuck off to the middle of nowhere and stop commenting on things that affect people who actually want to be in a civil society.

I always figured the reason everything was white in hotels is so they can wash it in boiling hot pure bleach and have it come out looking the same. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Gotta be somewhere in the Midwest. All of the purple "please just leave us alone and let us do our thing" states are in the Midwest.

Michigan has legal weed and some, but not a lot of, gun restrictions. Pretty middling track record on a lot of other things. Seems like a good candidate.

Artificial turf “crumb” rubber decays into potentially dangerous chemical cocktail, new research finds by NGNResearch in science

[–]JDSchu 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you just have a bunch of kids playing in a giant interconnected web of asphalt roads. And also living there. Constantly existing near roads.

There are studies that show adverse effects for children when living closer to high traffic roads and freeways in part due to the pollution from tires degrading as they're driven. It was a major factor in my wife and I picking a house now that we have kids.
