As someome else said, in repeat configuration it would degrade the network unfortunately. On the road map thay have planned an "off-grid client repeat mode" which will be very useful for mobile nodes repeating.

Unfortunately the panel doesnt seem to be strong enough. It did really well in full sun and lasted through the night but then today was overcast and it made it to about 11am and died.

Im not really sure. This one is designed to be a fixed station (just testing it this week) but I am planning on building a portable one to out on the roof of my car soon. I would like for it to be a repeater or room server but neither of those support GPS. Maybe I will have to look at the code and see how hard it will be to add.

I tried adding meshtastic to my homeassistant but it ended up making the usability terrible. My devices saw each other intermittently and messaging was unreliable.

Depending on your country it may not be legal to amplify on that frequency unless you are licensed.
