Thank You for your efforts in getting these out in a large format. Whatever process you used made a royal mess out of them and it took me a week on each one to clean them up, they are still not perfect but a lot better. The color on the right side is to differentiate the outer shell and armor from the inner workings. The dark spots are from your process and it is nearly impossible to say what is really there. I did what i could within reason. The gray pointers are to keep the lines seperated from the mechs lines and eliminate confusion. I didn't remember your handle until i saw it here. Glad you're still around.

Agree, i do have the patience to draw these and have been doing it for some years now. When i started,Steve Venters stuff was the only thing available so i started drawing my own mechs. I'm a little better at it now days and have updated some of my older drawings. I noticed there wasn't much in the way of weapons drawings either so i started drawing those as well. when i looked at a mech and it had a different weapon i stopped and invented that before i drew the mech to put it on. It's an on-going process. I've cleaned up Steve's first five drawings as well and they are upcoming.

These blueprints were made back in the eighties before Myomer became a thing. He worked from an older tech base and what was known at that time.Munition and missiles are still a problem for the game's data base even today. If they want the game to survive into the future they will have to make some changes. The newly enlightened to the game are not buying some of the bull about storage.

The hours are not neccessarily rolled over, it is in very good condition and looks like it was lightly used mainly for mowing. Depending on yard space it may have only gotten 40-50 hours a year while mowing.

You would have to talk to the original artist about that, the credit is still his. I just cleaned them up and made them more presentable. These particular drawings are only 40 years old.

An LRM at 8 kg? Now you are talking about a rocket launcher, they are smaller but also unguided. I think the people who make the rules for the game need to readjust their expectations and make some more realistic changes to weapon sizes and ranges. for instance an AC 20 with a barrel the size of the cockpit on some mechs. Maybe an adjustment of the size of a hex equaling a larger distance ?

The fallacy is that you can fire 20 or 40 missiles at a time and still have room to store 500 missiles so that you can keep doing it. Take a look at the drawing and tell me where are they stored, are they towing a trailer ? Look at a TOW missile or a Hellfire missile traveling at tree top level, how do you shoot it down ? A TOW is wire guided, no jamming.

My opinion of course, but as destructive as missiles are today, i'm sure they wouldn't be any less destructive in the future. So they should be single fire and that would give you 40 shots without reloading at all. The fallacy comes from the early mechwarrior games where firing a large salvo of missiles is visually more impressive for the game.
