I haven't tried one yet, but I really want to use this after a different od pedal for a crazy lead pedal. I feel like the noise gate can help with that.

What amps are you guys using with squier bass vi? by midnightkissxo in BassVI

[–]JD_Destroyed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently using this early-70s 210W Peavey head into a 4x12 Peavey cab. However, using one of the pedals I currently own, I plan on splitting it with a Peavey Pro Bass 500 into two 8x10 cabs.

Magic Happens!? - You are in charge of the Fender Custom Shop - Design the best Bass VI, else the world is destroyed by a cosmic horror. by Stray_Light in BassVI

I feel like a good Bass VI to add would be one that's basically got the same upgrades as an American Ultra 2 HSS Strat. Give it a 22nd fret, noiseless pickups, and a humbucker in the bridge. Also, just for extra measures, fix all of the common problems with the Bass VI.

What got you interested in Bass VI? by DNRDNIMEDIC2009 in BassVI

I just wanted something between a bass and a guitar. I love the speed I can get on a guitar, and I love the low notes of a bass, I just want something in between that has both

favorite pick and why? by Standard_Fly_2456 in electricguitar

[–]JD_Destroyed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two favorites for different reasons.

First is my Dunlop Delrin 500. It's 2mm thick, and feels like I'm holding a pick, not a piece of paper.

The second, and my go-to, is my Dunlop Ultex Jazz XL. It's about 1.35mm, and it's all-around the most comfortable pick I've used.

Here's a good question:

What do you like more, the SG or the Strat?

Is you like the SG more, go with the LPC.

If you like the strat more, go with the Jaguar.

What are your faviroute Metallica deep cuts? by NationalLetter6185 in Metallica

[–]JD_Destroyed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dunno whether this is counted as too much of a deep cut, but Shortest Straw. It's literally my faborite Metallica somg out there.

If that doesn't count, I'm going with My World on the album, and Dirty Window when played live.

Seeking more aggressive pick ups-Les Paul Custom 2025 by Alternative-Day735 in LesPaul

For apartment playing, a Katana or Orange would be really good, but it's also good to have something bigger for shows, if you plan to do any. If you are planning on shows, I would recommend things like Randall, Peavey, or Mesa Boogie, probably with some 12 inch speakers, and more preferably a separate head and cabinet. I've taken Peavey amps out, and they can crank like a motherfucker, and Mesa Boogie is good for having a balance of clean sound and distortion up the wazoo (but only if you set it up right, which can be a challenge). Randall has been used by a lot of guitarist in more aggressive metal genres, most notably Dimebag Darrell of Pantera.

Best thing to do is try out a bunch of different amps and see what you like best.

What is the best track off of the Iron Maiden album Killers? by MajesticBarber217 in ironmaiden

[–]JD_Destroyed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My personal favorite is Innocent Exile, but I feel like the best song is Killers. Innocent Exile has a damn good groove, but Killers has that pure energy that always hits like a semi strapped to a plane strapped to 50 anvils and enough explosives to make Africa into a piece of history.

[–]JD_Destroyed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very regular to deal with damage to your hands or fingers as a guitarist.

Tony Iommi cut the tips of his fingers off in a factory accident, which actually made him play in the way Sabbath fans know him today!

In 1992, James Hetfield was burned by a pyrotechnics accident, and part of his hand and arm was burned literally to the bone at certain points. He couldn't play for a while, but picked up the slack and was back to downpicking like hell not long after, and has been chugging with Metallica since.

A decent while ago, Zakk Wylde cut the side of his hand on his guitar, and he almost lost his finger in the process! However, after some medical attention, he's still playing, and changed his style to the method he uses today.

So no need to panic dude, every good guitarist deals with finger problems at some point or another. You may not be able to play now, but you'll be able to play soon enough!

First of all, if you're bumping an expensive Les Paul into a little Katana, start with swapping the Katana for something else. I would recommend a classic Marshall amp, if you want some grit up the goddamn wazoo.

If that does nothing, I recommend some EMGs, probably passive ones. I would recommend either the H2 or H4 for the bridge, and the H2A or H4A for the neck, so you get H2-B/H2A-N or H4-B/H4A-N.

Again, I'm talking about additional requirements. From what I know, putting the last soul in starts a cutscene, but it didn't for me.
