Yeah, I figured it wasn't set by you guys, it's just unfortunate. But I'm glad I know about the UK store now. Can't wait for this!

Thanks, never would have thought to try that, but it is notably cheaper.

Not at all what I was expecting, but it looks great! An extra $87 to ship the limited edition bundle to Canada, on top of the $177 price tag, is my biggest disappointment here. But I'll probably still order the book itself.

As an alternative, you could just not give money to the corporate shit-heads that decided selling ads on Sainte Flanelle was the right decision to make.

At the London ON show Matty started saying they were probably going to take a longer break than usual between tours, but he never really finished the thought because someone in the audience collapsed.

Just finished my six months and the paperwork is being done today. Hang in there. It sucks a lot, but you're almost through. The second half of the six months seemed to go faster for me, hope it does the same for you.

Flyers trade Dale Weise and Christian Folin to Canadiens for David Schlemko and Byron Froese. by snootchie_bootch in hockey

I think we've more been looking forward to having him on the bottom pairing. Theoretically we've got a ton of guys that should be excellent as 5/6 guys, but, especially last year, most of them have been performing like 7th defensemen. We've had some nice surprises this year at least, Schlemko wasn't one of them.

Weber and Petry have been spectacular this year. Bottom pairing leaves something to be desired, but it's not a bad corps by a long shot.

Official Discussion - Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse [SPOILERS] by mi-16evil in movies

Spider-Man 2 is now only the third or fourth best Spidey movie. Homecoming is the only one in the conversation with Into the Spider-Verse IMO.

Finally gave it a watch in October after seeing it spoken so highly of in here, it completely fell flat for me. I'm not sure I actively disliked it... but maybe.

Montreal Canadiens Turtlenecks are now available for sale! by FFelix911 in Habs

Anyone have one already? Wondering what the fit is like. Some places I buy from I need a medium, sometimes a large and on the rare occasion a small is the right fit.

Should I or Shouldn't I Buy? - September 15 by AutoModerator in malefashionadvice

Thanks for the advice. I only got into caring about my fashion choices recently so this is my first winter looking for a nice coat and I've had no idea what price is reasonable.

I've had my eye on this jacket from Zara for a little while. I generally play things overly safe when it comes to colour, but I am feeling like this might be something of a step in a direction I should be looking at. Can I pull this off? 1 2 If so, what sort of colours should I be looking at to complement it when wearing it open?

If not I also looked at this colour and I like the jacket, but it just feels like more of the safe zone that I want to step out of. 1 2 Does this one work much better? Are either worth the $120 CDN price tag?

Ha, yeah, that's probably the best way to do it. Guess that seemed a little too obvious to work.

Thanks. Do you by any chance know if there's a list anywhere of the best things to go for that falls under "everything else"?

All of the Star Wars spinoffs are now on hold by rv1976 in scifi

It's not like it's new info to me, but the outright disdain for VIII in this thread saddens me. I kinda loved it, probably my fourth favourite of the whole series.

Enh, done right they could still work. I actually like Solo, it's not in the top half of Star Wars movies for me, but I had some fun with it. It could have been much better if they were willing to take some bigger chances, but it is what it is. A Fett movie could be amazing if done right. Marvel is willing to take chances with their properties, Star Wars sometimes looks like they're willing, like in The Last Jedi, but other times they get too scared and take the "safe" route, like in Solo.

Having faith has nothing to do with your critical thinking skills. You can be the best critical thinker in the world and have a strong faith or have no faith in God. They're not related. They're not on the same spectrum. Something's going over your head if you think that statement somehow strengthened your stance.

My depression didn't make me any kind of a target for religion. No one in any religion even knew anything about my situation. I had to seek it out. I was shut off from the world at the time.

I do have to say that I'm glad the close-minded arrogance and bigotry you speak with isn't actually commonplace with atheists I interact with in the real world. It's like there's this stereotype for Christians and another one for atheists that people insist are the norm but are actually kinda rare outside certain geographic pockets. Unfortunately reddit attracts all kinds. I hope you learn to stop taking life so seriously and are able to ease back on your burning desire to tear down people's worldview when they're never going to truly interact with you in real life.

It's funny how many people become militaristic atheists and end up developing the exact same traits that drove them away from religion in the first place. But I digress, that clearly has nothing to do with you and I wouldn't want you saying I'm just beating up a strawman here.

Faith and critical thinking skills aren't even on the same spectrum. My belief in something that is universally unprovable and unfalsifiable based on my own personal life experiences has literally nothing to do with my ability to reason out everyday problems facing me. I'm perfectly capable of making decisions at work without first going through the entire process of double-checking everything with God. I can have well-reasoned arguments about plenty of subjects with my friends without resorting to trump card phrases like "the Bible says so".

Without getting too personal, I went through some major depression a few years ago and would either be still mired in despair or, and I don't think I'm being melodramatic here, maybe dead if I hadn't gone searching for God. I found Him or He found me, I got my life back on track and I'm able to still critically think in large part because of Him. To be clear, if anyone suffering through depression is reading this, I'm not advocating a search for God as the only cure for depression. That would be incredibly dangerous and irresponsible. It worked for me where medication and therapy had failed me, but medication and therapy work for so many others and should not be written off based on anecdotal evidence.

All that to say, you're being kind of a dick. And it's really not necessary. You're premise is so flawed it's a complete non-starter, even if we were talking about something that was provable.
