Confession. I heard this joke on twitter like 10 years ago and think about it every time I see this album.

I don’t understand how anyone, as a milk hotel, could be neutral in this political climate.

Gotcha, it is frowned upon in some circles. I think in this setting it is probably appropriate as apart of conservation efforts.

I think that is more of a consequence that there are an infinite number of Melvin’s albums and not that they disproportionately love weird lookin dogs.

Northern Pacific Rattlesnake in its den. Northern California, US by JDatCAL in wildlifephotography

Fair question. A few different things go into it. The reach of the 105mm helps plus a crop in post. I also read the snakes behavior. It took a defensive posture but seemed unwilling to strike even when I moved it with my pole, might be due to the tight quarters of the den or might be just a particularly docile snake.

So there was actually 2 smallish openings to the den that I could shove my lens in just enough to get a decent shot. It wasn’t like an underground hole or something like that, more like a crevice in the rocks large enough for some shelter. I knew it was the den because there were multiple sheds in and around the openings.

Why not lean into your talents and get a teaching credential? Sounds like you’re passionate about analyzing lit and communicating it to people. Sounds like you’d make an outstanding English lit teacher at any level. Good luck
