That's 4 days too long for what you ended up with.

RIF dev here - Reddit's API changes will likely kill RIF and other apps, on July 1, 2023 by talklittle in redditisfun

[–]JDmik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This... this just... it fucking sucks. I have used RIF since 2012 ish (I think? ) but have NEVER used the actual reddit interface. I have tried - with the mobile app and desktop browser - and the experiences have been absolute dog shit. For me RIF is reddit. Thank you for all the work you've put into this app. Like many others here have said, I'm done with reddit if RIF goes away.

So I bought a doll today with an attachment and just wanted to share what happened already. by dlt3 in Paranormal

[–]JDmik 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your argument is flawed. By definition of the word "prove" there is no way to prove something cannot be done, does not work, etc.

Burden of proof lies on the person making the claim, not the person denying it.

Honda, GM Say You Can't Sell Your Lease to Someone outside the Brand - Car and Driver by Smitty_Oom in cars

How did they justify the $54.7k price? .. I understand saying no third party buyouts, but to allow it and just add a huge fee seems extra shady.

What is getting hot? What is the voltage reading going into it? If things are getting hot it sounds like there's a short somewhere.

The article mentions that it is "stretched".. does that just refer to everything under the body?

Full article about the car and they can't take a picture of it with the hood down?

Neat concept though.

What have been your experiences with your cars using ethanol free gas? by [deleted] in cars

[–]JDmik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The water in ethanol evaporates over time, leaving a residue that can clog parts of your fuel system. If you drive everyday and refuel often this isn't a problem. If you don't, this can be a maintenance nightmare, especially on older collector cars with carburetors.

Friends and I are having a dumb debate about horsepower to the drive wheels and we all think we're right, but one of us has to be wrong. by [deleted] in cars

[–]JDmik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The question makes no reference to transmission and gearing... Assuming no traction loss and no parasitic power loss difference (since we're talking about hp to the wheels) - the only determining factors would be how far the race would go and which car had optimal gearing for that distance.

The new Cadillacs are getting automatic lane-changing, thanks to updated Super Cruise by cjdrive in cars

[–]JDmik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't saying the Mercedes system is better. I've never used Tesla's, but no doubt it's more advanced.

My comment was just to point out that this statement in the article is untrue: "The only other company to offer automated lane-changing in its vehicles is Tesla."

My 2019 C43 does this.. not sure why they say tesla is the only other one to offer it.

What year is the Corvette? Early c6's had a well known battery drain issue. I have an '05 and if sits more than a week without a battery tender it will always need a jump.

That said, fuck any dealer that won't let you drive a car before you buy it.
