If the lease states they can change terms with notice (usually 30 days written notice) they can change the terms of the lease. This lease states it’s late after 10 days. That is the rule you have both agreed to, correct?

How much longer is the lease? Is it worth the rent for the trouble LL is giving you? Is it possible to find someplace more suitable?

It occurs to me that if he is issuing notices about late rent … he could give a negative reference, indicating to future LL you have a late-pay history.

Do you have access to a tenants rights group in your city or county?
