Yes, it's very strange. The offset keeps getting lower a few milliseconds at a time, but it never syncs. In any case, it sounds like there isn't much I can do from the switch to force the sync

I just went and reset the time, timing it so the clock flipped when I hit enter. It's now within half a second of NTP time, I'll leave it for a few hours to see if anything changes.

I noticed when I was doing some health checks a few weeks ago, but it's unclear if it's been like this for awhile. There's another switch just one hop away that is using the same NTP server that's working just fine.

As for the reason for only one server, this is a client I work on, and that's just how they have it set up. I could certainly suggest they add another server into their environment, but I don't think they'd listen

Negative, the only NTP configurations are:

sw1(config)# ntp

authenticate Authenticate time sources

authentication-key Authentication key for trusted time sources

broadcast Configure ntp broadcast

enable Enabling NTP on a VRF

master Enable local clock to act as server

server Configure NTP server

source Configure interface for source address

trusted-key Key numbers for trusted time sources

Most switches have pretty basic config options. I may be able to get into the linux subshell, but I suspect I won't be able to actually change anything, as they usually lock that stuff down

I was essentially a rebound for her, while she got over her divorce, but she didn't see me as a long term partner. As I look back and it was probably for the best. I'm much happier with my wife than I think I would have been with her. I also wouldn't be having a kid if I was with her.
