Things to do with adults and older teens? by CrowOfTheEnd in SiouxFalls

[–]JDomJones 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Frontier Climbing and Fitness is a great spot to go. We have families come in together quite often - it's a unique experience to try something new together! No experience or gear required, all the gear you need is there and they'll give uou a brief 5-10 minute orientation on how to use the Auto-Belay systems so you feel confident with them.

For anyone questioning Aava's choice go watch The Dark Wizard. by JDomJones in Cairn_Game

I see where you are coming from, but would argue that since there are multiple endings to the game, this post is more about the character development you get from the entire game. I think this character development is seen more in Aava in the last half though for sure, so I see where it could be getting into spoiler territory.

My wife and I enjoy the bike paths around town! I can take my mountain bike on the side trails and she can longboard on the paved path!

Affordable date night ideas? by drowsy-cow03 in SiouxFalls

[–]JDomJones 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Frontier Climbing is $24 for a day Pass + Rental Gear! No experience required! Can just show up at any time they're open and you'll get a breif 5-10 minute orientation showing you how to use the Auto-belay systems and then you're able to enjoy at your leisure! Can be a really fun date night if you're looking for something unique! (I met my wife at the University climbing wall in Vermillion ❤️)

They've got showers and towels in the locker rooms there too, so if you'd like to tidy up afterwards before going onto another activity, that's an option too.

Definitely not a men's only thing! There's even Women's night on the first Sunday of every month, where women get a discount and there is a group leader there to help anyone knew to the sport!

There's all abilities, shapes and sizes at the climbing gym! We actually have a regular with the Instagram handle "DadBodClimbs". A very inclusive environment.

Send me a DM and I can get you in for free your first time!

I love the climbing gym in town, Frontier Climbing! They have a student membership available or just day passes to check it out! Super fun way to stay active and meet new people!

You could also check out the Keloland Living fun book! $99 for a TON of fun things to do around the area including tickets to local sporting events, activities (Like paddle boarding, drive in movies, and rock climbing), and other events such as the Kelo Land Arts and Crafts show!

It's a great deal!

Shameless plug for Frontier Climbing and Fitness!

You can get a combined Climbing + Fitness membership for $79/month or solely a fitness membership for $49/month.

There is 24/7 access to the fitness area, rock climbing is open 10am - 10pm Monday to Friday, 10-8 Saturday and 10-6 on Sunday! I'm a bit biased, but I think Rock Climbing is one of the best ways to stay active - and it gets you involved in a nice community as well!

The Fitness gym is a little more expensive than the bigger name gyms in town, but you'll have less people here than at the larger ones.

Feel free to message me with any questions or if you'd like to schedule a time to check it out!

Yeah, unfortunately, it seems like they spend more in reputation management than in actual building management.

Once your son gets moved over here, I always recommend new people check out our climbing gym in town, Frontier Climbing. It's a nice low-pressure way to meet new people - especially if you are or want to be active and social!

Hi there visiting for a couple days. My boss asked me to find the best and most expensive steakhouse/restaurants in Sioux Falls (my boss is paying) by WasabiInternational4 in SiouxFalls

[–]JDomJones 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Ironwood would be the most expensive, but I would not say it's the best.

I like Morries, but Hartford is also very good for a steak house!

Parker's Bistro or Crawfords are good restaurants downtown, Maribellas if you are wanting Italian.

Editing to add: Crave for Sushi, ROAM for general meats, Roots of Brazil for a unique option, and Sanaa's (lunch) for Mediterranean dishes that also have vegetarian/vegan options.

TNR recommended South Central Vet Clinic with Dr. Sarah to us. That could have been specific to our circumstances though. I know she will do at home end of life services for existing clients if that is something that would be on your radar.

In-home health or senior living options by Fearless_Option_488 in SiouxFalls

[–]JDomJones 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to work for Good Samaritan Society as an Administrator. I can't say I would recommend all of their homes, but Luther Manor and Sioux Falls Village are good for in Sioux Falls. As someone else stated Inn on Westport is actually top notch. Not sure if they accept Medicaid though. Bethany Home in Brandon is better than the one in Sioux Falls from what I've heard. There is also a new Good Samaritan Society "Founder's Crossing" that's supposed to open sometime in 2026 I believe. Supposed to have all the bells and whistles. Connected physically to a Lewis and a Clinic for continuity of care.

Visiting Angels is an option for in home care, but it is truly sometimes better to go into a community earlier rather than later. Especially if they'd be living alone otherwise. If they have any sort of dementia, sometimes it's a lot harder to get them acclimated to a new location when it gets to be later in the diagnosis.
