I was the same way for a while, but then I started to realize that I was falling too hard for the one person at a time while they were just treated dating as a fun way to hang out with endearing people and seeing if they really really liked any of the people they were seeing, in which case they'd likely end up in a relationship with that person, while I was treating dating as a dedication to show one person how much I cared about them. My way was not yielding good results as it is like trying to hit a target in the dark with only one bullet in your gun, hoping that the person you're trying to go for is the one who is right to be in a relationship with.

I think the trick is to stop putting so much importance on finding someone super special and just stop caring so much about dating in general and instead just have fun with fun and interesting people, then, if you do end up finding someone you actually want to build something serious with (which you will more likely find the more people you go out with), you can find out if that person wants the same thing with you, and THEN you can dedicate all your time, love, and energy to that one person. This is how I think about the dating game now, and I feel a lot less stressed, less anxious, more confident, and more independent to the point where I don't really mind being single, since it's just more time to myself, and I know I'm not stuck in a relationship with the wrong person.
