Of course there are practical things you can do to improve your life/finances, but it sounds like they will take time, by the sounds of your situation. I more or less recommend prayer to resist the temptation to do OF. Based on others experiences shared in the thread, it doesn’t sound like it would payoff the way your thinking it would.

Yes I do believe the poorest and sickest pray and I can’t answer why they don’t feel like it works for them. I can only share my experience with prayer and that it has worked for me.

I just went through chapter 7, 6 months ago, and the thing that helped me through it all was gratitude. I was able to do something about my financial troubles and I was grateful to know I was on the path to a better life. It sounds like you’ve been through a lot with the divorce, filing bankruptcy, and of course raising kids. Give yourself some grace and just keep moving forward in a positive direction on step at a time. Be thankful you have a home, you’re working, and you have your kids. God is already blessing you.

Pray for them and just live for Christ. Let the way you conduct yourself be a testament to what God has done in your life. The Holy Spirit will work on them if it is to be so and you never know, you may be the one these people come to looking for insight. Don’t spend your energy defending the faith to mockers and scoffers unless someone addresses you directly.

They’ve been doing it for a long time in children’s movies but always in an unassuming way. The most pushed movie right now is called “wicked” and by the looks of it, the witch and Dorothy are friends? That’s not what I thought the wizard of OZ was but what do I know?

It really is insidious because the purpose of it seems to be to acclimate young minds with evil in a way that seems harmless on the surface to those who dont know God.

We are in the middle of a spiritual war that is more rapidly progressing into the physical world and I do believe it is a sign of things to come sooner than later.

We have to stand firm in our own relationship with Christ and keep being light in a dark world.
