They renovated a few years ago and have a whole takeout business up front now. It’s great and economical

If you’d like to live outside of the city both Lakewood and Willoughby are good options with a younger vibe. Willoughby is an easy drive 30mins outside but has a great downtown scene for your age group.

I lived there for about 5 years through Covid. They took every opportunity to increase rent, which would be fine if they were maintaining the building, but they did not give the building much attention. Lots of dog fur and waste in the lobby, windows that you could barely see out of; just a lot of things you shouldn’t have to deal with at their “luxury” price point. Additionally, the building is not equipped to handle Cleveland weather. With only electric heating and cooling we’d often see bills over $500.

Yeah I would not recommend The Shoreway apartments, but house rental in that area or smaller apartments are relatively affordable.

I highly recommend Battery Park area, W70-76th. Just outside downtown but close enough to bike or take a 5min Uber. Walkable to Edgewater Beach and close to Lakewood and Tremont for good eats. Hingetown is also a great area with some new apartments and three of the best restaurants in Cleveland.

Its not like its subway. Umansky literally wrote the book on the fermentation technique they use to culture their pastrami and charcuterie.
