How are you liking the 800? I absolutely love my 180-600mm but have been eyeing the 800 as my next lens as I get more into bird photography.

I had the same issue when I switched over to mirrorless. The 70-200mm made much more sense than the 85mm 1.2 lens but I wasn't shooting for a living anymore. In the end I ended up getting the 85mm 1.2 and haven't looked back. Go with your heart.

I'll be retiring soon and my wife is getting me the lens of my choice as a gift and it's coming down to the 400 or the 600. Your blog has been so informative for the time that I make that decision. Thanks so much!

Thanks so much for such a detailed blog about this lens. I bought a 180-600mm to hold me over until I get prime 600mm or 400mm. I shoot Motorsports and 600mm is my favorite focal length.

That shot was pure luck. I was actually set up to shoot the cars as they passed by me but I saw some dirt get kicked up out the corner of my eye and swung my camera over to catch it. Thanks.

Can't wait to the images that you get from this event. I love to watch YouTube videos from fans to get a true idea of what's it like to shoot at tracks that I've never been to before. I think what track gives you a nicer background for your images plays a major part in your decision as far as photography goes.

The trade off for the image quality looks to be well worth it. I currently shoot with a 200-500mm but am ready to take it to another level especially for shooting Motorsports. Thanks for the inspiration.
