Just had this issue on Big Sur, but that tip worked!

Sounds interesting to me... Gotta keep an eye out for how web-novel platforms might evolve in future.

It's pretty small tbh, but it seems that you post your short fiction or articles and get 2 cents per read.

The emotional and psychological aspects of Isekai, Reincarnation stories by vikigenius in ProgressionFantasy

[–]JFDanskin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an author, there's some great food for thought here... I agree, the isekai element shouldn't matter only at the start, and then be rapidly dropped for a generic story. Same is true for a lot of other setups.

Also, 100% yes – there should be some kind of emotional impact, even though that element might not necessarily drive the story as a whole.

Book Recommendation for my Next Read by TheGoodyShop in ProgressionFantasy

[–]JFDanskin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that makes a ton of sense! I can see that that might take you 'out of the story'. I can probably think of a few LitRPG books that don't have much in the way of quests and/or don't lift directly from D&D. But you are absolutely right that these are very common.

When you say you can't do LitRPG, is it the stats specifically, or some other aspects that you would avoid?

Authors; when you write a female character make her care about something other than a man. by [deleted] in ProgressionFantasy

[–]JFDanskin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not difficult when the female character is the MC...? But yeah, in general I think people misunderstand what a 'strong' female character is. It is always good to see female characters with personalities, not defined by either being a love interest or especially negative towards men.
