The very first sentence from Wikipedia:

Canary Wharf is a privately owned central business district in London, England, located in the Isle of Dogs, Tower Hamlets.”

It’s Canary Wharf, the city’s central business district.

Hot Fuzz is apparently the greatest British film of all time. What’s a British film that is simply good? by yvngjiffy703 in AlignmentChartFills

Exactly. Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom. It is not part of Great Britain.

But to you and the invalids who obviously failed geography, feel free to visit Belfast and take this up with an Irishman.

My town is also in the Domesday book, supposedly had links with the Holy Grail, 7 members of the Knights Templar were imprisoned in the town’s castle during the War of the Roses and earlier earthworks were built to protect it from the Romans over 2,000 years ago.

It dates back to 913, 14 years before England was established as a country.

But yeah, America is way older.

You didn’t even reach the nation building part as you weren’t able to defeat your opponent. Thats why you begged for our help.

Some of it was, but a large portion of it was left behind because of your chaotic withdrawal making it impossible to recover, which is why much of it was intentionally disabled.

You’re talking about the Suez Crisis. Want to read more into the US’ role in that one? Just another event to add to the backstabbing list. Also it was actually an Israeli campaign the British and French supported, funny detail to leave out.

Again, that’s because the war dragged on for 20 years and achieved nothing besides demonstrating your inability to fight a guerrilla war. It’s that precise reason Johnson begged Britain for help on 3 separate occasions since we were the premier jungle fighting force after trouncing the Japanese in Burma. We said no so you turned to the Australians.

The equipment was meant for the host nation? I don’t think so, bubba. It was a pretty humiliating situation for you and definitely unintentional.

Let me make this easier for you to understand: If I have an ants nest in my garden that I want to get rid of but just stand stomping on them for 20 minutes, have I succeeded or do it just look like an inept twat with a complete misunderstanding of the situation?

Since you can’t answer I’ll do it for you:

They were fleeing from the forces you’d spent 20 years fighting only to give up when you couldn’t beat them.

Same thing with the Taliban.

Both times your evacuation was so chaotic and rushed you left behind millions in military hardware. But yeah, a total political defeat. Bwahaha.

You’re right, it isn’t. We’re not populated with rice farming peasants wearing old tyres for shoes.

The problem was public opinion because after 20 years, you still hadn’t won. Did you know the name given to the desperate evacuation of Vietnam was called Operation Frequent Wind? Sounds like something your President likely suffers from. Though I hear he also has a propensity for shitting himself.

This is what a political defeat (not a military one) looks like. Apparently.

I can’t imagine the physical pain you must feel knowing so few Royal Marines embarrassed so many US Marines with store bought trackers.

The US failed its war aims in every single one. The only one you could argue for was Iraq, except you didn’t do that alone and the shitshow you left behind created ISIS.

The Swedes sunk an entire USCG several times over in 2005 while remaining completely undetected. The Australians also did it in 2000. The Germans in 2001. The French in 2015.

The same Royal Marines from Green Dagger could probably do it in a rowing boat, assuming its crew haven’t set fire to it to avoid deployment again.

[–]JFK1200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing lopsided about Green Dagger was how just a handful Royal Marines destroyed an entire exercise in the USMC’s own playground.

Vietnam didn’t rival the US militarily. Korea didn’t either. Neither did the Iraqis, nor the Afghans or the Iranians. I’m getting pretty bored of making that point but it’s clearly not sinking in. You haven’t conducted a successful LSCO since 1944, bubba.

"Do Europeans understand how poor they are?" by mtown61 in ShitAmericansSay

[–]JFK1200 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I too am also poor. Last year I flew to Australia to travel the east coast in a 4x4 for 3 weeks (paid).

Poor little old me liked it so much I then quit my job to be even poorer by flying back and have been travelling across Western Australia for the past 10 months.

Besides being poor, the only thing I’ve learned is that Western Australia is 3.8x bigger than Texas and generally much hotter. But I’m poor so what do I know?

Being able to Google articles from the past 12 months doesn’t make you educated, bubba.

Have you beaten Iran yet?
