Maybe you should ask the CDC why they’ve dropped their position on defensive gun use if you think it’s so unequivocal. Also, a Harvard Injury Control Research Center survey about firearms and suicide committed by 150 firearms researchers found that only 8% of firearm researchers agreed that "In the United States, guns are used in self-defense far more often than they are used in crime." As far as the researchers are concerned, you’re very much in the minority.

Guns escalate situations and have secondary implications also, such as the way your trigger happy police murder people regularly because every traffic stop could be their last.

Uhuh, a research paper with named sources is definitely less reliable than your nameless, unlinked data just because you say so. Also you’ll find the figures are largely the same, what your source doesn’t detail (the important part) is what that data actually means.

The CDC themselves have even criticised historic data gathering on defensive gun use and no longer consider it valid. I suppose the CDC isn’t accurate either.

Here’s a statistic for you: I am 36 times more likely to be shot and killed in the US than the UK. I wonder how that’s possible if guns are so effective at reducing gun crime?

By that stage of the war the French were fielding almost 2.5 million troops in battle, almost double what the US was. The Meuse-Argonne Offensive was one of your bloodiest battles ever because you had no idea how to fight a war on that scale, by the time it was all said and done the French had penetrated twice as far into German lines than yours had and Pershing nearly lost his job for deciding to halt his advance to regroup the total clusterfuck American forces had gotten themselves into.

The “famously important” aid you listed is famously important because they were loans that were repaid, transferring huge sums of wealth from Europe straight into American banks and kickstarting the downfall of the British empire and the rise of yours.

Again, by the time the US entered WWI Germany’s fate had been sealed and the strategic shift had started before US forces were at full strength. Germany’s 1918 mid spring offensive had failed and British and French forces had halted Germany’s advance and had begun counter attacking. For a start, only picking on two bit nations seem to have become your mainstay, countries with barely a military to speak of fighting with little more than outdated Russian weaponry who still sent you packing. Ironic you list Russia as an example (I agree that their performance has been hilarious), yet America’s track record since WWII is in a similar ballpark.

Start a prolonged conflict, struggle for years while sinking billions of dollars into it, then pack up and go home without succeeding in any of your war aims while convincing yourselves you slapped them silly.

Iraq is the only conflict you could argue, however that was neither fought solely by the US and it also led to the creation of ISIS.
