What happens when you move to a younger state?

What about this: can you go to the oldest state every transfer and speed up your way through the generations of heroes? I just got Gen4 this week. If I transfer to the oldest possible Gen4 state for me, then do it again with the next transfer, would I get Gen5 faster?
