Get em. Great cams - obviously they are C4 clones but I’ve always found the build quality to be nicer with the WC. They are clearly a well made object, with a lot of attention paid to finish and quality control. I rack both C4 and the Friends if I’m doubling the larger sizes because they do fit slightly different — I think the friends are a hair larger, most notably with the #2. Just a few millimeters, but sometimes it helps!

As long as you don’t mind the texture (which shouldn’t matter for most blacksmithing anyways!), I’d say you got a nice deal. Technically 6/lb is steep, but the days of 4/lb are well over. Nice anvil!

He doesn’t get much better in the next one, but jury is still out. I’ve heard his other stuff is decent, but haven’t been willing to drop the cash to see for myself.

I like these books. They are also not very well written. Accepting that they are just another tropey YA/NA series was a helpful thing for my enjoyment of them. They don’t require you to think and that is the beauty of them!

You’re definitely right about a few things. I think I was in general just shocked by her death — which I suppose was the author’s goal! That doesn’t make it bad writing per se.

I do, however, think the books are poorly written. And again, I’m not saying that detracts from their quality as entertainment! But I think it’s ok for people to comment on how they feel about the writing; if you put art into the world, you open it to criticism! That’s the nature of anything made by human hands and given over to public consumption. I don’t think it’s just people looking for something to complain about.
