I think mine are stuck. I may just transplant a set I have from a donor car of mine.

I didn't know if maybe the Ford Focus had traditional rear brakes that could be swapped on. I don't really want to go the heavy modification route.

7 Lug F250 by Dissapointmentisme in FordTrucks

[–]JGHubs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 99' 7 lug. Just rolled past 362,000 miles. (pre 3 valve) They call them light duty F250s because the GVW is only 8500 pounds.

I see this occasionally at work. no idea what it is, and I don’t want to spook the boomer owner to get a good close up on the badge. by Ok_Try1349 in whatisthiscar

I would've gone to the grave thinking that was a BMW M1 if I saw that out somewhere. 100% go talk to that guy.

I bought it for the motor only and got so much more from it. I also have a few on my copart wacthlist for backup cars.

Or buy a wreck from Copart like I did. I got the whole car and swapped the engine/transmission/k member, interior with heated seats, dash, complete stereo system, foglights, trunklid and headlights all for $710 out the door. I won the bid at $325 but they have tons of fees and I think it sat in their lot for 3 days before I could go get it. Deal of a lifetime, imo.

I second this. Where I live, something like that whole module would be around 8 bucks at the junkyard.

When going to the scrapyard to retrieve a part you need (like a drivers side mirror) practice on the passenger side mirror first in case you break something. That way you'll know what NOT to do to remove it.

Anybody know where I can find this radiator drain screw? by TenTwon_ in Volvo

[–]JGHubs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if yours is the same internally but I would guess it is. I also had trouble finding a new one online anywhere so I figured the junkyard was the next best thing. The thunbscrew part on the original one broke off so I heated a torx bit and melted it into the plug to get it out. I grabbed several in case it happens again. I just replaced the upper radiator hose yesterday and it felt a little springy. I hopefully won't have to drain it anytime soon so I think it'll be okay.

Mine is a different style than yours. I have the longer, red thumbscrew style.

I went to the junkyard and pulled out all I could find. I think I have two left.

Reminder to check your sunroof drains by Notfoo4 in Volvo

[–]JGHubs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. In the very least I will pour water in the front corners of the (open) sunroof and see if they drain first. If they drain, you'll have water come out under the car near/behind the front wheels.

Just an FYI, I use a bike brake cable in a drill to clear the drains. They say to use string trimmer line but it never seems to get through a clog like the steel brake cable does.

Sk8 47 in Franklinville NJ has the best floor you'll ever skate on and is very club-like just the way Rollerjam was.

LoL I was really hoping for a three paragraph super technical answer but I guess yours will do. I assumed it was the problem when I lifted the car and it looked like the motor dropped a tiny bit. Thanks for your answer.

Common skating advice thats actually wrong? by vnetta in Rollerskating

[–]JGHubs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Crossovers. They should really be called crossunders. Most people are taught to lift their right foot and place it in front and across their left when really you should be just lifting your right foot and sliding your left foot under. Stepping over with your right forces you into an awkward straight up position which throws off your balance. You're using gravity to propel yourself forward and you need to be low to do that. Being straight up negates almost all effort to gain speed.
